We recently connected with Connie Kercher and have shared our conversation below.
Connie , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
My confidence wasn’t born from motivation or interest – it’s built through consistent action. Every morning, I showed up to work on myself, especially on days when I didn’t feel like it. Each rep, each practice session, each small step to prepare the best I could laid another brick in my foundation. I had to learn how to manage me… all the different parts of me, to then be able to put myself on intentional paths to develop skills and strengths.
Initially, the progress felt invisible. But like going to the gym, the daily commitment slowly transformed into visible results. I stopped relying on fleeting inspiration and instead trusted in my habits and daily action steps. The more I followed through on my commitments, the more my self-trust grew. That is why I say COMPLETION BUILDS CONFIDENCE!
This consistency rippled into every area of my life. When doubts surfaced, I had concrete evidence of my reliability and persistence. Each completed project, each kept promise to myself, reinforced that I was someone who follows through. By keeping the commitments to myself, I was able to not waiver on “WHAT IF” but more “OF COURSE I CAN”.
The key wasn’t finding confidence – it was building it through deliberate practices and putting challenges in front of me to build the best version of myself. Like muscle memory, self-belief became automatic through repetition. Now when challenges arise, I draw strength not from temporary motivation, but from knowing I’ve put in thousands of hours of focused work.
True confidence comes from knowing you’ve done the work, day after day, regardless of how you felt. It’s the natural outcome of showing up consistently for yourself.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. You can’t mange what you don’t measure – Having clear, measurable goals transformed vague aspirations into actionable steps. I tracked progress meticulously, which provided concrete evidence of growth and motivated further action.
2. Effective communication is a dynamic interplay between expressing yourself clearly and truly hearing others. The key is developing both sending and receiving skills:
Sending:
Structure thoughts before speaking
Match your tone and body language to your message
Adjust your style based on the listener’s needs
Receiving:
Practice active listening without planning your response
Ask clarifying questions to deepen understanding
Reflect back what you heard to confirm accuracy
3. Develop self-awareness. Do this intentionally by reflecting on patterns, understanding your own triggers and identify blind spots. I call this EXTREME OWNERSHIP of your personal development journey, it allows you to continue to change the way you show up in every relationship and experience.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m actively seeking collaborations with visionary women business leaders who are revolutionizing their industries. The ideal strategic partner is a thought leader in their industry, a proven track record of innovation, and a commitment to driving meaningful industry transformation.
Key areas of mutual value:
– Cross-industry knowledge exchange and strategy development
– Co-creation of thought leadership content and speaking opportunities
– Joint venture opportunities in emerging market segments
– Mentorship and acceleration programs for next-generation leaders
