We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Connie Stowers. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Connie below.
Connie , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
“My resilience comes from experience—real, raw, sometimes painful experience. I wasn’t born with it; I built it. I’ve had to start over more than once, whether it was leaving a stable career, navigating a divorce, or rebuilding my life from financial rock bottom as a single mom. Every time I faced a setback, I had a choice: stay down or get back up.
I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about never falling—it’s about refusing to stay there. Skating taught me that. Business taught me that. Life taught me that. The mind quits long before the body does, and I’ve trained myself to push past the breaking points where most people stop.
At the end of the day, I get my resilience from me—from the decision to keep going when everything in me wants to give up. And if I can do it, so can anyone else.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I wear a lot of hats, but at the core of everything I do is one mission: to show people—especially women—that transformation is possible at any stage of life.
I’m a real estate professional, a mindset and movement coach, a speaker, and an entrepreneur who built my life and business from the ground up after taking a leap of faith and walking away from stability. I left a secure career, navigated a divorce, and rebuilt my life—financially, mentally, and physically—while showing up authentically on social media and inspiring others to do the same.
What excites me most about my work is that I don’t follow a rulebook—I create my own path. In real estate, I specialize in helping people navigate major life transitions—whether that’s buying their first home, selling after a divorce, or moving forward after a loss. In coaching, I help people shift their mindset, embrace movement, and break free from the limitations they’ve placed on themselves.
Right now, I’m launching a new coaching program that blends mindset work with movement—because I believe true transformation happens when you train both your mind and your body. This program is deeply personal because movement was the catalyst that changed my own life. When I chose a skate rink over a bar, I had no idea it would lead to an entirely new version of me.
At the heart of my brand is the belief that you don’t need permission to change your life. You decide. You take action. And you build the future you want. That’s what I’m here to show people—whether through my coaching, my content, or the way I live my life unapologetically.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1️⃣ Resilience – The ability to get back up, no matter how many times I fall.
Life will knock you down. That’s not a question. The real question is: Will you get back up?
I’ve had to start over more than once—financially, emotionally, and physically. The key to resilience isn’t avoiding failure; it’s refusing to stay down when you fail. My advice? Stop looking at setbacks as signs to quit. Look at them as training. Every challenge is sharpening you for what’s next.
2️⃣ Adaptability – The courage to pivot and figure things out.
I left a salaried career with no backup plan. I had to learn real estate, marketing, sales, social media, and business—all at once. I didn’t have a roadmap, but I was willing to adapt, adjust, and learn as I went. For anyone early in their journey: stop waiting to “feel ready.” You learn by doing. Take the risk, start before you’re ready, and be willing to course-correct along the way.
3️⃣ Self-Trust – The ability to listen to your gut and bet on yourself.
This one took me the longest to develop. When I first left my career, people doubted me. When I started skating, people laughed. When I built my brand online, people questioned me. But my biggest wins came from the moments I listened to myself over everyone else. My advice? Build the muscle of self-trust. Start small—keep the promises you make to yourself, follow through, and watch how your confidence grows.
At the end of the day, success isn’t about knowing everything from the start. It’s about resilience when things get hard, adaptability when things don’t go as planned, and self-trust when no one else can see your vision but you.
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
Imposter syndrome is the biggest challenge I’m currently facing—not because I don’t believe in what I’m doing, but because sometimes, deep down, that old programming still tries to pull me back.
I grew up with the belief that success meant working for someone else. My entire education was built around the idea of being a good employee, following a structured path, and playing it safe. Now, as an entrepreneur, coach, and public speaker, I have to constantly remind myself that I belong in these spaces—even when my old conditioning tells me otherwise.
The funny thing is, I coach others on confidence, resilience, and rewriting their own stories—and yet, I have to take a dose of my own medicine. Practicing what we teach is easier said than done, but I refuse to let self-doubt dictate my future.
So, how do I overcome it? I take action. I don’t let the fear sit long enough to take root. I remind myself that my success didn’t happen by accident—I built it, step by step. When imposter syndrome creeps in, I lean on the same principles I teach:
✔ I move my body—because movement shifts my mindset.
✔ I reflect on my wins—because facts silence fear.
✔ I surround myself with people who believe in me—because the right environment matters.
At the end of the day, I know I’m capable, even when my brain tries to tell me otherwise. And if I can rewrite the script in my own mind, I know I can help others do the same.
