We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Connor “the Conman” Hauser. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Connor “the Conman” below.
Connor “the Conman”, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Through constant failure. The ONLY effective method I’ve seen to help alleviate things like performance anxiety, low confidence and a negative attitude towards yourself is exposure to things you are uncomfortable with and to fail. Through failure you only birth the drive to do more and be better. It is also tantamount to have a good support system. Rally people around you who will push you and inspire you to do better through those failures. People that are better than you at a given skillset are the best for that. They can teach you or coach you through the problems you face with what you want to learn. I’ve discovered that if you find people who are on the same skill level as you or worse, they only serve to drag you down further, so find someone who is a master at what you want to be good at, and befriend them.
As a musician, my first concert was a train wreck. NOTHING went as planned. But a good friend of mine (who is a better guitarist than me in A LOT of ways) and I pushed through and we both learned together what we need to work on. Not to mention I had others around me that were good resources to get the kind of feedback we needed. In those situations you need to ask meaningful questions and be ready to accept some harsh criticism. Then you take that and move forward.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Connor. I go by the moniker of Almighty Conman the Third. I am a small time musician based in the Seattle/Tacoma area of Washington state. I like to make music. I usually don’t like to put a specific genre label on it, but if I had to it’d be hard rock/heavy metal. I am also a content creator and have a small YouTube channel centered around my two favorite hobbies which are anime and music.
I was born and raised in Washington state and grew up with all sorts of music around me. My dad plays guitar and several of my uncles play various instruments as well. My passion for music was born when I saw my dad play on his 60s Fender Stratocaster for the first time. That was his first electric guitar he ever owned and the first guitar I ever played on. Since then I have been playing guitar for about 18 years. I also learned how to play bass and drums and had a passion for singing ever since I was a kid. I was quite a choir boy in middle school and high school.
The brand I have as Almighty Conman the Third is focused firstly by the ability to make music. Just music, nothing too specific, which is why I try not to label mine. I have a wide variety of musical tastes, so if we were on a road trip together you might find yourself amused by the drastic change in music. From J-pop to Rap to Metal and Old-school country, I promise you’ll stay entertained.
I think the most important message I’d like to impart with my brand is to just make something and inspire others with it. To me, the money behind fame is a nice idea, but the core idea is that I inspire someone and make them feel something when they hear my music. That, to me, is worth more than a Ferrari or a Lambo or a million dollar mansion. I don’t care what you feel, just feel SOMETHING.
As for anything new, I have a lot of concerts planned for 2025 and a second album I’ve been working on that will be coming out early next year, so keep watch for that!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
First thing I think is important is, as I previously talked about, the ability to accept failure and move past it. Take the criticism and work towards becoming better.
Second would probably be kindness or compassion without sacrificing yourself. What I mean by that is, it’s ok to show compassion or kindness to others, but if you are wearing yourself thin or sacrificing your own health (mental or physical), then that can be a hindrance on your journey to success. You really must become selfish before you become selfless. If I had a hundred dollars, and five people asked to borrow twenty, where does that leave me? You must be able to stand on solid ground before you can help others up to it. Otherwise you all fall down.
The third and last thing I would say is to thicken your skin and make the realization that you won’t be able to make EVERYONE happy. The moment you try to please everyone, you’ll please no one. There will be haters, there will be people who are jealous of you, and there will be people who try to bring you down. Most of those people aren’t doing anything with themselves, so it is best to just ignore them and understand they might just be jealous of what you have or what you are doing.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking for a sorts of people to collaborate with! I encourage it whether you are a big name creator or small time. Collaboration brings fresh ideas to the forefront of content creation. I want to collaborate with people within the spaces of anime and music, but am open to other areas. My inboxes on all my socials are always open to collab requests! As long as you are dedicated, flexible, and willing to openly share thoughts and ideas, come at me!
