We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Corey Jack. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Corey below.
Hi Corey, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Overcoming imposter syndrome required self-awareness and faith. I started by studying what it was and realizing that even icons like Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey and other well known reported that they had experienced it. That helped me see I that it was something that many successful people deal with at some point in their journey.
A turning point came when I heard a speaker explain that people often downplay their natural gifts because they come so easily to them. When others recognize their excellence, they struggle to believe it because they assume everyone can do what they do. That resonated deeply with me. A quote that helped me shift my mindset was: “I promised myself that from now on, I will not allow others to see more and believe more in me than I see in myself.”
My faith also played a major role. I believe I was divinely purposed to help others recognize, develop and monetize their skills so that they can economically thrive. If I was called to do this work, then I was also equipped for it. Allowing imposter syndrome to hold me back would mean doubting that purpose, and that was not an option.
By embracing my gifts and standing in confidence, I overcame imposter syndrome and now help others do the same.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My work revolves around empowering individuals through business consulting, financial literacy programming and education. I operate in two primary spaces—through my consulting firm, Jack & Associates LLC, and my nonprofit, the Legacy Institute for Economic Attainment.
Jack & Associates, founded in 2017, is a business consulting firm that helps entrepreneurs across the country start, structure, and maintain their businesses. We guide them through entity formation, compliance, and business planning to ensure they have a solid foundation for success. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless individuals turn their ideas into structured, legitimate businesses.
In 2020, I founded the Legacy Institute for Economic Attainment, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching financial literacy and entrepreneurship to youth and young adults throughout Louisiana. We educate participants on fundamental financial concepts like budgeting, saving, credit, and investing, as well as how to start and grow a business.
What makes our work unique is that we don’t just teach theory—we equip our students with practical skills that they can immediately apply to their lives. We’ve recently expanded our programming to include emerging technology education, covering topics like artificial intelligence, robotics, and blockchain. As these fields continue to shape the future of work and business, we want to ensure that young people—especially those from underrepresented communities—are prepared to pursue careers, higher education, or entrepreneurial opportunities in these industries.
Ultimately, my work is about economic empowerment—helping people, whether they’re aspiring entrepreneurs or young students, develop the financial knowledge and business acumen to build a secure and successful future.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, the three most impactful qualities that have shaped my success are resiliency, commitment to personal and professional growth, and an unwavering belief in my God-given abilities.
Resiliency – The road to success is never completely smooth. There will be challenges, setbacks, and moments when things don’t go as planned. The key is to keep pushing forward. Resiliency is what allows you to power through the tough times instead of giving up. Never forfeit your destiny just because things got difficult.
Commitment to Personal and Professional Growth – No matter how much you learn or achieve, you should never stop growing. Staying stagnant can be just as harmful as failing. Always remain a student—seek new knowledge, sharpen your skills, and surround yourself with people who challenge and inspire you. Growth is a continuous journey, not a destination.
Unwavering Belief in Your God-Given Abilities – If you don’t believe in yourself, it will be hard to convince others to believe in you. You were given unique talents and abilities for a reason. Trust that you are equipped to fulfill your purpose, and don’t let doubt or external opinions shake your confidence.
For those early in their journey, my advice is simple: keep going, keep growing, and trust that you have everything within you to succeed. Challenges are just stepping stones to your next level.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m always looking to collaborate with individuals and organizations that share a passion for entrepreneurial empowerment and financial education. Specifically, I’d love to connect with:
Entrepreneurial Experts & Business Development Professionals – Those who help aspiring and existing entrepreneurs tap into their potential, start, and grow their businesses. Whether you specialize in business coaching, funding access, strategic planning, or scaling businesses, I’d love to explore ways we can work together to create more opportunities for entrepreneurs.
Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship & Emerging Technology Advocates – People and organizations committed to empowering the next generation with financial knowledge, entrepreneurial skills, and access to emerging technologies like AI, robotics, and blockchain. If you’re involved in youth education, curriculum development, or mentorship in these areas, let’s connect and make a greater impact together.
If you’re interested in collaborating, feel free to reach out! You can connect with me via email, LinkedIn, or through my website. I’m always open to partnerships that align with my mission of economic empowerment and education.
