Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Corey “Young C” Rolfe. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Corey “Young C” , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my confidence and self esteem thru preparation. Being in business and working on projects many times doesn’t always go as planned. I learned as a kid to always be ready for “the worst!” In any situation, if anything can go wrong, many times it will go wrong. Therefore, planning for the worst and being able to adapt has built my confidence along with in depth knowledge of my area of expertise.
I recall as I was doing a show, playing drums with a band, this particular band we use computer technology and the recorded in studio session for background singers and extra instrumental part (pre-recorded), to play along with our live performance. With this there cannot be any “hick ups,” mess up, and everything has to be on time. Cannot be a measure late. It’s a very disciplined process. This particular time my laptop during sound check, seemed to run slow and not respond. As a studio engineer, I always have a back up plan. With a backup plan for the back up plan. Before I left I also downloaded the music track and files to my phone and packed my cables just in case anything happened. Well just in case happened. We produced a major performance and the same show I executed from my phone as if it was the computer.
So always have a back up and be prepared for the least expected.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Looking back and analyzing, 3 qualities that were most impactful in my musical journey are understanding of time, doing and conducting fair business, and treating people with respect-for their experience. the 3 skills have made my business a success due to the characteristics of each. These 3 things are big in any business setting. These also allows me to be held accountable and clients held accountable, to make the experience unforgettable.
Advice for ones early on in their journey, I would recommend self evaluation, setting goals of conducting business that differentiates from the norm. Adding side excitement that will bring customers back, Maximize opportunities. Be efficient, Be proficient, solidarity, and punctual.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing that my parent instilled in me was at a young age, making it plain that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. They taught me not to be afraid of anything. No one else has the pen to write the outcome of my story. Risk-take them! Don’t be afraid to fail. (which most of the time is a lesson). With that, not allowing anyone to hold me back on my goals and dreams
