Meet Corinne Fry-Rich

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Corinne Fry-Rich a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Corinne , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I would say that I get my work ethic from my parents no doubt about it. My mother was an RN in emergency and recover and growing up I witness her take extra shifts to help support our family. My dad starting selling newspapers at six years old in downtown Los Angeles on Broadway before graduation from Cal State LA in Ceramic Engineering and later starting his own business which I manage today. Their example has motivated me to strive for success in my own endeavors and never settle for mediocrity . I am grateful to have inherited such a valuable trait from my parents, as it continues to drive me towards achieving my goals.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a small business owner, I feel grateful to have the opportunity to connect my values, missions, and organizations that are important to me with my business. Supporting causes such as LGBTQ+ community ,women’s reproductive rights, and gun safety is not only a personal passion, but also aligns with the principles that my business stands for. By donating a portion of our sales to these organizations, we are able to make a meaningful impact and contribution to positive change in our society. This commitment to social responsibility has not only enabled us to support these causes, but has also fostered a strong and loyal customer base who share similar values. It is empowering to see the collective support and engagement from our customers, and it motivates me every day to continue using my business as a force for good.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Ask questions, tons of questions. Listen to conversations from others who have been successful in their chosen path and learn to adapt these to what works for you. By learning from others others and adapting the best practices to your own career , you can set yourself up for success and continuous growth. Give yourself goals and dreams for the year, but also learn to break them down into a realistic time frame . example , this months goal is to get A, B, and C finished. Also develop a team around you that has the same work ethic to grow your business in a strategic way in a path that works for you.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Colloborations are always fun. We run a great private label branch of our business so I love creating the perfect candle for a business whether its a beauty brand, tv show, clothing designer or corporate gift. When we get a call or email my first questions is, “What’s your dream candle look like?’ Then we work on ways to create it for them. We are always open for meaningful partnerships .
