Meet Courtney Harris

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Courtney Harris a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Courtney, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Honestly, a lot of my confidence was built through my modeling career. Being in that world taught me how to carry myself, how to walk into a room and own my space, and how to handle both praise and criticism with grace. Modeling pushed me outside my comfort zone in so many ways—it’s where I learned to be comfortable in front of people, to embrace who I am, and to trust that I have something unique to offer.
That experience really shaped the way I show up today in my design business. Whether I’m presenting ideas to a client or walking them through a vision for their home, I lean on the self-assurance I built back then. It gave me the foundation to not just believe in myself, but also to help others feel confident and excited about the spaces we create together.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m the founder of CSH Interiors Design, where I specialize in creating custom closet and storage solutions that are as beautiful as they are functional. My background is in fashion and interior design, so I love blending style with practicality—helping people feel more organized, more confident, and more at home in their own spaces.
What excites me most is that every project tells a story. Closets, for example, are deeply personal—they hold the pieces of someone’s life, their wardrobe, their memories, even their ambitions. I get to design systems that not only maximize space but also reflect each client’s personality and lifestyle. It’s where my love of fashion, interiors, and storytelling all come together.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding my reach by sharing more of my design journey online and connecting with my community. I believe design should feel accessible and inspiring, not intimidating, so I want to bring people along for the process. Whether it’s through client projects, collaborations, or upcoming showroom events, my goal is to show that thoughtful design can transform not just homes, but the way we live in them.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

One of the most impactful things for me was studying fine arts and design. Learning the fundamentals—composition, balance, and detail—gave me the eye I rely on every day in my work. That foundation is something I believe every creative should invest in.
The second was being willing to sacrifice in order to gain experience. There were times I took major pay cuts just so I could be in the right rooms, learn systems and operations, and get hands-on training that would prepare me for where I am now. Those choices weren’t always easy, but they were absolutely worth it for the growth and knowledge I gained.
And lastly, understanding luxury customer service has been key. I’ve learned that how you treat people is just as important as the design itself. Delivering a high level of care and personal attention builds trust and sets you apart.
For those early in their journey, my advice is this: don’t be afraid to bet on yourself, even if it means short-term sacrifices. Focus on mastering the basics, say yes to opportunities that stretch you, and always keep people at the heart of what you do.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

There are honestly too many to remember, but a few of my absolute favorites have really shaped the way I think and work. Atomic Habits taught me the power of small, consistent changes and how tiny improvements can create massive results over time. The 48 Laws of Power gave me a deeper understanding of strategy, awareness, and how to navigate relationships in business and beyond.
I also loved In My Shoes, because it shows the reality of building something meaningful from the ground up—it’s inspiring and relatable. The Alchemist is one I come back to often; it’s a reminder to follow your purpose and trust the process, even when the path isn’t clear. And Millionaire Mindset really helped me reframe how I look at abundance, success, and creating the life I want.
Each of these books has left me with lessons about discipline, vision, resilience, and mindset—all of which continue to guide my personal and professional journey.
