Meet Courtney North

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Courtney North. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Courtney , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I think developing confidence and self esteem is an ongoing process for me, it’s something I have struggled with my whole life.

I still have days were I don’t feel good enough and where I am insecure but I believe that everyday you have to work toward it.

I see a therapist regularly and that has helped me tremendously, it’s help you self reflect and gain self awareness and work on things you would like to improve.

I workout often which I believe is an important part of self-care. It helps me mentally and physically and also when you do get stronger and stronger it does help boost that confidence.

I also follow our companies mission statement which is “To Inspire others to continually grow and embrace their true authentic self” – this is something I try and live by, I believe constantly growing, learning and improving yourself will ultimately help you gain better confidence and self esteem, and I also believe being who you truly are without trying to mask anything allows you to be confident with who you are as a person.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I own a company called Don’t Fit In.

As a mom, I have naturally gained a passion for helping children learn to love every part about them and what makes them unique, I wrote a fun and quirky children’s book called “Beenz and Peace Find Their Happy Place” where the character learns to love and accept his differences.

We just recently launched our 30 Day Children’s Activity Guide which will help your child learn many ways to love themselves, take care of themselves and accept their differences allowing them to create a life they love.

Lastly, we sell fun clothing designs with our signature designs, as well as designs that we have had the wonderful pleasure of children creating their very own design.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Creativity, Persistence and Passion.

I believe that you have to have a passion for what you are wanting to create, I have a need to help people see their worth. If you have an idea execute it and be persistent!

Some other advice I would provide is having connections, I didn’t have this early on and it was really hard to start from the ground up. You need to have connections and build a community to be successful.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
I would say it has nothing to do with business but more to do with my personal growth.

I have been able to set aside time to focus on me and my priorities this year and I have really been able to grow.

I have put a heavy focus on my mental and physical health as the past few years I have struggled with hormone imbalance and severe anxiety. I have been focusing on working out and building muscle, the foods I put into my body, fueling my body, therapy, my environment, grounding etc.

Overall I feel so much better, I am no where near the finish line and have a lot more work to do but I have learned so much and feel so much better already. This will be a priority the rest of my life!
