We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Courtney Wells a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Courtney, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
I am a firm believer that every successful, small business owner has to be optimistic, you have to be confident. Not only when you are winning, but in your times of failure. At a young age, I instilled in myself that no matter if I am winning or losing that life is still moving around me, creating so many opportunities out there that will continue to change your outcome.

Hey there! My name is Courtney Wells and I am the owner of Copper State Pizza Truck. Copper State Pizza opened here in the valley in 2020 and has been thriving since. I specialize in 10in personal pizzas, with a huge variety of pizza toppings and homemade dough, i’m confident I can satisfy any pizza lover’s craving! We soon hope to expand our menu in 2024 to more than just pizza. Check out our website for our monthly schedule.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Remaining humble, kind, and working my butt off has gotten me to where I am. Things will get tough, but never forget that hard work never goes unrewarded. Just don’t forget to to appreciate the journey.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Whenever I am feeling overwhelmed the best way I ground myself again is by stepping away from what I am doing for a quick break for some fresh air and vitamin D. Having a jam out sesh sometimes does the trick too!
