Meet Cruzer Urameshi

We were lucky to catch up with Cruzer Urameshi recently and have shared our conversation below.

Cruzer, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?

I use self motivation, discipline, and look at the big picture. I learned early on in music that inspiration feeling will go away quicker but if I stay focused everything will happen when it needs to

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am a music producer that works in hip hop, lofi, Synthwave, and ambient music. I have a quite a bit of music that’s been releasing over the years. Each year I’ve learned a new skill, developed strong relationships, and overall growing my brand. Recently I just released my first rap instrumental project Meshi and am dropping my new hip hop ep Public Enemies with music artist BillZBondZ on November 17th.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Discipline, ambition, and adaptability would be the qualities I’ve learned over the years. The best thing I’ve learned is to know how to work hard when you’re not motivated. A lot of people I’ve met over the years only work when they are inspired which in the process they get burnt out time and time again.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

From the streaming perspective I’d like to work more with gamers in sense. While I’m relatively new to the streaming space I’d like to work with people that are in the same gaming or like the same games I do. I would like to collaborate with streamers that are in the Yakuza space, Nintendo related, or just gaming in general whether we do a joint stream or just gaming parties to help each other out.
On the music I’m at a point where my name has a strong impact to where when I put my imprint on something it has long lasting impact. Whether it’s producers or artists everyone I’ve worked with has spoken highly on me.
