We were lucky to catch up with Crystal recently and have shared our conversation below.
Crystal, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I am resilient because I have to be. I have two little one’s that depend on me and that is the ultimate motivation. Growing up I had to work for everything. I grew up in a loving home with the most wonderful parents. We lived a humble life and I always knew that I wanted to do well in life to pay it back to them. All of their efforts, money spent to send me to college even though it was financially straining on them. Their support never wavered and because of that I am the person I am today. I knew I wanted more in life and I always took the initiative to make those dreams come true. I have been knocked down in life personally and professionally but my “why” is bigger than any speed bump in life. Every day is a blessing and I see it as an opportunity to show up fully both for myself, my family and my clients.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a real estate agent here in Austin, TX. Born and raised here I have a deep love and respect for this beautiful and diverse city. I spent most of my career in tech sales. For eleven years I was an enterprise sales leader responsible for a team of 10-15 individual contributors that were responsible for generating millions in sales annually for the company. As you can imagine, operating in a work environment with such high stakes I am not a stranger to pressure, tough conversations and I do not scare easily. I have always been passionate about connecting with others, listening to their needs and ultimately helping them to find solutions. Deep down I knew that my real calling was to be in real estate. My husband and I purchased our first rental property here in Austin in 2017 and that ignited a drive in me to want to pursue a career in this industry. After 11 years in tech I knew that I needed and that I had to go all in on what I truly wanted. I took a leap of faith, betted on myself and quit my corporate job. I went all in with real estate and since then I have not looked back. I truly love what I do. More importantly, I love who I get to do it for; my amazing clients. Purchasing or selling a home is a very personal journey and being able to be apart of that in someone’s life is something so special. I am forever grateful for the connections I have made and the clients that have put their trust in me. Each and every single person is unique and I love getting to know my clients on a personal level. I am there to meet them where they are at. When I tell you I show up fully, I mean it. I do the most for my clients not because that is my job but because they deserve it. I advocate, support and go all in from day one to the closing table and even after the fact.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I believe in the power of kindness and empathy. I lead my business with an authentic heart and I love showing up for my community. I am knowledgeable in what is occurring in the market and having been born and raised in Austin I have a deep understanding of what this wonderful city has to offer my clients. I am a fierce business woman and someone that will not shy away from a challenge. I do not scare easily and I show up hard for my clients advocating for them always. I lead with empathy when it comes to meeting my clients where they are. I want to get to know them first and foremost because they deserve to be heard. Being authentic, a fierce business woman and having an unwavering drive to do right by my clients are qualities that I always bring to the table.

How would you describe your ideal client?
I honesty do not have an ideal client. I have worked with a vast range of clients from first time home buyers, VA clients to seasoned investors. I absolutely love what I do and I love our clients even more. I am passionate about real estate and committed to the success of my clients. I know how important it is to have a trusted partner in your corner that will support, guide and advocate for you throughout the entire buying, selling, leasing or investing process. I go above and beyond and know that each individual client is special, unique and on their own journey. I aim to understand the full scope of our clients goals and ensure that they are in good hands. I listen before I advise. Every single person is on their on trajectory and each real estate goal for our clients is unique. I cater our services to meet you where you are at. I take pride in the work that I do and the services I provide and I would be honored to support you too.
