Meet Crystal Amon

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Crystal Amon. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Crystal below.

Crystal , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

It all started with writing. I began freelance writing as a way to heal myself—and in the process, I realized my words could help others too. I’ve always been drawn to raw, real topics that reflect the depth of human experience.

Then cancer touched my life. As a survivor, that journey transformed me even further. I felt a deep pull to support others walking a similar path. That’s what led me to create the Dragon Strong Circle—a space for strength, support, and truth for anyone affected by cancer.

Helping others through my story, my writing, and the Dragon Strong Circle is how I live in my purpose every day.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Crystal S. Amon, but most know me as Princess Crystal Says. I’m a raw, real, and purpose-driven voice in a world that often silences truth.

I’m a cancer survivor, a writer, and the founder of the Dragon Strong Circle, a supportive space for those impacted by cancer. My mission is about more than surviving. It’s about living boldly, speaking truth, and helping others rise with purpose.

Through my platform, Princess Crystal Says, I share unfiltered reflections on trauma, healing, growth, and resilience. I talk about the hard stuff, the things most people avoid, because I believe there’s power in honesty. My blog is more than a brand. It’s a movement rooted in truth, strength, and the belief that our voices matter.

What excites me most is knowing that my words help others feel seen. Whether I’m writing about grief, pain, triumph, or joy, someone out there realizes they’re not alone. That’s the heartbeat of everything I do.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding the reach of Dragon Strong Circle, growing the blog, and connecting with brands and communities that share my values.

At the core of it all, Princess Crystal Says is about one thing: Purpose through pain. Strength through truth. And rising, again and again.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back on my journey, the three most impactful things were learning how to write effectively, how to revise and edit with purpose, and the ability to stay consistent even when life gets hard.

Writing became a powerful outlet for healing, expression, and connection. But it wasn’t just about putting words on paper. I had to learn how to write in a way that truly captured the attention of others and helped people feel something real. That took guidance, especially when it came to writing for the web.

One of the biggest influences in that growth was Lyn Lomasi of BrandShamans.com. She mentored me through the process of developing a writing style that not only expressed my truth but also served others. Lyn taught me how to write in a way that resonates, how to revise with intention, and how to adapt my voice for online platforms—something that’s vastly different from what’s taught in college.

For anyone just starting their journey, my advice is this: keep writing. Even when it’s uncomfortable. Even when it’s messy. Write with purpose, revise with care, and surround yourself with people who want to see you grow. Learn to use your voice in a way that brings value and healing—not just to others, but to yourself.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When I feel overwhelmed, I turn to writing, prayer, and meditation. Writing helps me release everything I’m holding in. Prayer reconnects me to my strength. And meditation gives me the stillness I need to breathe through the chaos.

My advice to others is the same—find your release. Whether it’s writing your thoughts out, praying, sitting in silence, or a mix of all three, give yourself space to feel, process, and reset. You don’t have to have all the answers in the moment. Just take the next breath, the next word, the next prayer. That’s enough.
