Meet Crystal Ayozie

We were lucky to catch up with Crystal Ayozie recently and have shared our conversation below.

Crystal, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from my parents and extended family. I was told of how they overcame immense challenges after moving from Nigeria to the United States, leaving behind a familiar yet difficult environment for a new land full of unknowns. The transition wasn’t easy, and they faced countless obstacles, from cultural barriers to economic hardships. Yet, through their determination and faith, they not only survived but thrived. As a first-generation Nigerian American, I’ve been afforded opportunities they could only dream of. To honor the sacrifices that were made before me, I strive to make the most of every opportunity, knowing that my success is a testament to their strength. The resilience they instilled in me continues to guide me, reminding me that overcoming adversity is part of my heritage and my duty to carry forward their legacy.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

As both a social media content creator and an esthetician, I’m deeply committed to empowering women to step into their greatness, whether through skincare or inspiring content. On Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, I create wellness, beauty, lifestyle, and personal growth content for women aged 18-35, encouraging them to pursue their dreams with confidence and discipline. I believe that when a woman commits to her vision, no matter how impossible it may seem, she can make it a reality. In my esthetics practice, I’m equally passionate about helping others look and feel their best by offering personalized skincare solutions tailored to their unique needs. I strive for excellence by staying ahead of industry trends and holding myself to the highest standards in both my service and content. Whether I’m working with clients or creating content, I’m dedicated to providing real value, fostering mutual respect, and empowering women to create the lives they’ve always dreamed of—one step at a time. Once I graduate from my master’s program as a licensed professional counselor, I plan to extend my passion for helping others by providing mental health support and guidance, with a focus on empowering individuals to navigate life’s challenges and thrive. My goal is to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and equipped with the tools they need for personal growth and healing. Through counseling, I aim to make a lasting impact by helping people unlock their potential, heal from past wounds, and create a future that aligns with their true purpose—mirroring the empowerment I strive to achieve in both my esthetics work and content creation.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are faith in God, discipline, and a commitment to reading and education.

Faith in God has provided me with a foundation of hope, purpose, and resilience, helping me trust the process even when things seem uncertain. For those early in their journey, I’d advise nurturing a spiritual practice that keeps you grounded and gives you the strength to persevere through life’s challenges.

Discipline has been essential in staying consistent and focused, no matter the distractions or setbacks. My advice to others is to develop a strong sense of self-discipline by setting clear goals, breaking them down into manageable steps, and holding yourself accountable each day.

Finally, reading and education have been invaluable in expanding my knowledge and sharpening my skills. I encourage everyone to cultivate a love for learning. Whether through formal education or self-study, reading broadens your perspective, enhances critical thinking, and equips you with the tools to succeed in any field.

By building on these three pillars, you’ll be well-prepared to navigate your journey with confidence and purpose.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

The number one obstacle I’m currently facing is myself. Over time, I’ve realized that the bad habits I’ve formed have become a part of my personality and have been holding me back. To overcome this, I’m actively working on breaking those habits and replacing them with healthier ones. This means being intentional about creating a new mindset, one that’s rooted in positive thought patterns, discipline, and consistency. By focusing on building better habits, I’m reshaping my personality to align with the person I want to become and the goals I want to achieve. It’s a continuous process, but each step forward brings me closer to the best version of myself.
