Meet Crystal Frank

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Crystal Frank a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose at a very young age, and for that, I am very grateful. I vividly remember being three years old, watching The Wizard of Oz movie, when I saw the ballerinas dancing in the movie. I told my parents that I wanted to dance like that. Shortly after, they enrolled me in my first ballet class. Dance class and performing on stage were my happy places, I felt totally in my element under the bright stage lights performing. I also enjoyed learning in dance class. I was eager to learn more and to get every piece of choreography perfected. Soon after starting dance class, I told my parents and anyone who would listen, that I wanted to be a dance teacher when I grew up. In my preschool class I began wrapping the shoe laces of my tennis shoes around my ankles in order to make them look like ballet pointe shoes. I remember my preschool teacher constantly unwrapping them and tying them “correctly”. I was usually a rule-follower, but in this case I wasn’t giving up on my tennis shoes being pointe shoes. This was definitely an early sign of my persistence. I am grateful that I found my purpose at such an early age. I believe that my purpose is to spread joy, encourage, and inspire others, I choose to do so through the beautiful art of dance.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As the Owner of Elite Performing Arts Conservatory, I am able to follow my purpose of spreading joy, encouraging, and inspiring others by teaching dance. Our studio is located near Fort Worth, Texas in Aledo. We offer many classes for students ages 2-18, such as, ballet, ballet en pointe, jazz, hip hop, tap, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre dance, theatre arts, acrobatics, technique intensive classes, competition company dance teams, and more! We also offer Summer Dance Camps and Dance Workshops, as well as fun Dance Workshops for Grownups, such as 90s and 2000s hip hop workshops, and Salsa Fusion workshops! This has been a fun girls’ night out activity for friends to get together, get moving, and have fun dancing to the songs they grew up with. Enrollment for our Summer Dance Camps, Workshops, and our 2023-2024 Season of Dance Classes will open on May 1,2023.

At Elite Performing Arts Conservatory, I teach with the purpose to educate students with the proper technique and terminology, while uplifting and inspiring my students. Taking our dance classes is a great way for students to make lifelong friends! What sets us apart from other dance studios is that our students don’t compete against each other, they root for one another. This is the energy that I’ve created and uphold at Elite Performing Arts Conservatory.

A great way for students to become part of a team that feels like family is for them to audition for our company teams. We will have auditions for our 2023-2024 Company Teams on Sunday, May 21, 2023. All students auditioning must pre-register for auditions at:

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I believe that some qualities that have been most helpful in my journey of being the owner of Elite Performing Arts Conservatory, have been my passion for dance, my authenticity, and my family; my husband, Chris, and my children, Fallon, Slade, and Aspen, have all rooted me on and have been my biggest cheerleaders. They are a huge reason that Elite Performing Arts Conservatory is celebrating 10 years of inspiring students this month, and for that, I am beyond grateful.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
As silly as it may seem, one of the phrases that has made an impact on me and has helped me to have perseverance through the years as I’ve built my business was said by Dory in Finding Nemo. “Just Keep Swimming.” It’s just three words, but the statement can be very inspiring. I believe that this can be applied as an inspiration in anyone’s life, not just for a business owner. It encourages us to keep going and reminds us that we can get through any obstacle that is in our way. There are great things waiting on the other side of the obstacle.
