Meet Crystal Gardner

We recently connected with Crystal Gardner and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal, thank you for joining us today and sharing your experiences and acquired wisdom with us. Burnout is a huge topic these days and so we’d love to kick things off by discussing your thoughts on overcoming or avoiding burnout
Being a sole proprietor of a barbershop helps me have more control of my personal life. I’m able to take time off to focus on myself and my family. Having that benefit helps me from over working and keeping me from becoming stagnant and feeling burnt out.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a master barber and proud owner of the Painted Lady Barbershop in midtown Memphis. 15 years in the industry and counting. I love attention to detail and precision cutting, along with razor fades and beard grooming. Anyone can cut hair, but you really need a passion for what you do in order to be happy doing it and being the best at what you do. I go above and beyond in my profession because a simple haircut can turn someone day/ week completely around. Keeping my clients happy is my goal because you really never know what they go home to or what they deal with in their own lives. I offer a personal and comfortable environment in a laid back setting and cater to anyone and everyone looking for a next level grooming experience. Online booking is available at Paintedladybarber.salonsuitesolutions.com

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Confidence, determination and the willingness to keep learning are three things to practice in order to be successful in any industry. My advice to anyone in the beginning of their journey is to never give up on your goals no matter the obstacles. Nothing worth waiting for will be easy.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My parents allowed me to be my own person. They never hindered me from being myself and supported me through my adolescence. I was a creative child full of curiosity and continue to stay true to that as an adult.
