Meet Crystal Grenier

We were lucky to catch up with Crystal Grenier recently and have shared our conversation below.

Crystal, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I will never be the same ME. Nor do I want to BE.

In the fall of 2017, a mid-life cancer diagnosis was certainly a wake-up call to my already healthy lifestyle. As a fitness instructor and personal trainer who practices what she preaches, I was literally knocked off my podium following an armpit lump discovery, an ultrasound and a biopsy confirmation of breast cancer.

My self-diagnosis for breast cancer: I honestly believe breast cancer came to me as a long overdue message to introduce a rediscovery of SELF physically, mentally, and spiritually. Physically, I continue to exercise or add movement daily. Mentally, I practice calming breathing techniques and short meditations, and spiritually, my wellness is being nurtured through value system practices.

Unprocessed grief, and years of emotional stuffing planted the seed that grew into my illness. As a child, I was a quick study to do what was expected without being asked or told to avoid conflict and backlashing. I kept all words and thoughts to myself, and rarely shed a tear even though on the inside, I was hurting and angry. I was secretly craving affirmation, praise, some type of tangible acknowledgment of acceptance. My emotional plate served up an overflowing meal of negativity, self-deprecation, a lack of self-love and a yearning for affection and approval.

This cancer message and journey drives my vision to help other women thrive. An emotional component, along with other places of well-being, are threaded through my holistic healing pillars; nourishing our emotions, moving through our emotions, and alchemizing our emotions. And recently, my study and certification as a crystal practitioner, and a medical astrologer, solidifies my direction and purpose in creating an awareness, sharing options and choices to support health and well-being.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am currently in the middle of a rebranding. And I shared prior a little bit about my story.

My current passion around supporting women to thrive in all places of well-being comes from my recent dive into crystal practitioner therapy and astrology. As a published author of “Crystalize Your Health: Thriving Through Chronic Illness,” I have expanded on my self-discovery through more study of the energy around crystals, and my astrology chart. I have always had an interest in astrology, and now, I hold more of a peaceful presence because I understand and can apply the energy around why I am the way I am…the choices I have made in the past, present, and my future, my mannerisms, my character, personality, emotions, etc.

So, as a wellness consultant/coach still utilizing my 3 healing pillars of nourishment, movement, and alchemy, I choose to tie in the trifecta of the natal astrology chart, transits, suggested crystals for support, and then looking into the medical astrology piece of the chart. With a firm hold in supporting women in health and healing, this consulting or coaching can nourish well-being, provide energetic movement, and help transform emotional processing.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

My purposeful journey: I don’t wish a disease diagnosis on anyone to come to this place of purpose! So, I suggest being open to alternative ways of looking into your health. Don’t just pop a pill to mask the symptoms just because a doctor tells you to. Seek other options with the medical piece to enhance your health and healing.

1. Create and cultivate your self-awareness.
2. Explore holistic options to promote your healing journey.
3. Stand in your own power around your health

I have had to embrace being OK in living and working in my metaphysical world of support, even though it may not be accepted by the masses or considered the norm. I do feel a paradigm shift in the area of health and healing, as there is more information, practitioners, therapists, etc. who are embracing modalities of energy work to support healing.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

I continue to practice what I preach (or consult/coach) with my online business. I don’t walk away, stuff my emotions, and sometimes later explode with words, anger, resentment, etc. When overwhelmed or in a confrontational situation with someone, I communicate that I hear and understand what and where they are coming from, but I need to step away, and come back with a calm, thought out response of what I want to share. With the hopes that I will be heard and understood. And if not, then I have learned to let go, not harbor and dwell, because the negative energy isn’t worth taking in, and I DO NOT want to get sick again, ever.

This way I am in control of my feeling in the moment, and am not reacting right away, throwing hatred that I may later regret. I also love to be out in nature moving my body (Aries rising) which brings a sense of release and meditation. I also practice deep breathing exercises, and listen to calming music.
