We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Crystal Render. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Crystal below.
Crystal, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
I believe WHOLE HEARTEDLY if God made a way for me to be in the room then I DESERVE to be there & there’s something that only I can bring to the table. Therefore, I refuse to be intimidated by my colleagues or counterparts because I an just as worthy to be in that room as they are even if I’m the only one who looks like me.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Magnificent Morsels is Greater Cincinnati’s only All-inclusive Caterer, we’re an innovative catering company changing the face of catering in the food & hospitality industry. Our “all-inclusive” approach & unmatched artistic flair is what allows us to provide a multitude of services from private parties to commercial output. We are the 1st company to be sponsored by the Cincinnati Bengals and Paycor through their Earn Your Stripes sponsorship program for our massive community give back.
Fall of 2023 MMC will be expanding into our retail division by launching our Home Kitchen Collection of premium 3-n-1 Spice blends that will be available through our site Mmcaterz.com
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Being realistic about the product or service you provide Everyone has something to sell….. You need to be realistic about the product or service you provide and it’s true valuen Undercharging or overcharging will quickly kill your business. And you must provide something that no one else does like you.
2. Be open to criticism
This one may be hard, but it is necessary in order to progress or grow your business. Because as much as we would like to think we know everything we honestly don’t.
3. LEARN TO DELEGATE
This is so important because burnout is real!
Someone once told me if the CEO is doing a menial $10 task for 8hrs in the business because they don’t know how to properly delegate, but they’re worth is $250 an hour they just lost $1920.
Because they could have been working on something more lucrative to bring in more money to the business, but instead the chose to do menial tasks instead.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
I have a few! The Secret
The Magic
The 4 Agreements
The 5th Agreement
These were GAMECHANGING they helped me remove the fears that once kept me from progressing my business & taught me how to change the perspective of how I view every person I encounter.
