Hi Curlese , thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism comes from my faith in The Most High God. My faith teaches me to remain steadfast in all situations and rely on God to overcome any challenges I may encounter.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a Licensed Georgia Residential and Commercial Realtor as well as veteran high school English/Journalism Instructor. I am the proud founder and team leader of the Purposed Realty Group. As a real estate professional, it is truly a rewarding experience to play such a pivotal role in guiding clients in achieving their homeownership and investment goals. I specialize in assisting clients with buying, selling, and/leasing residential and commercial properties. Serving as an educator is rewarding because I have the esteemed privilege of impacting the lives of thousands of young adults who are preparing for college and/or career. My skills and experience as an educator has attributed a great deal to the success I have garnered in the world of real estate because I am able to properly educate my clients on how to make sound investment decisions that will yield high end revenue in the future.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Gratitude is by far the most important quality that has been impactful to my journey in life as a whole. For quite some time, I struggled with being thankful for the life I was given regardless of how unconventional my childhood was. I had to grow in my faith and learn to appreciate the journey. Perseverance is an important quality that has impacted my journey in my personal and professional life. I had to learn by experience, “Nothing good is easy and anything worth having is worth working and waiting for.” I grew to understand I needed the “No’s” in life in order for me to learn how to overcome objection to appreciate the moments I would earn the “Yes.” Consistency is also a quality that has been most impactful to my journey because I was always knew from my former life as an athlete that I yielded the best results when I remained consistent to becoming a better player. This mindset has translated to my life as a professional and personally as well. Every day I wake up grateful for another day persevere and remain committed to the journey.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My late beloved grandmother, Jannie Rose Benson was and still is the greatest inspiration to my life. She instilled so many values in me that I carry and exude in the personal and professional relationships I have built and are currently building. I credit my grandmother for giving me my sweeter side; my love for my faith, being gracious to people, and always believing in myself. My partner and best friend James Powell has played a pivotal role in my personal and professional life by holding me accountable and reminding me to simply, “Do the work.” James is a very logical and no-nonsense person who challenges me to remain consistent and always have a dedicated plan for my personal life and business. He too have taught me the importance of being disciplined and committed to the journey regardless of the challenges I will encounter along the way.
