Meet Curtis Fontenot

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Curtis Fontenot. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Curtis below.

Curtis , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose when i was a young boy in my first foster home when i went to school and started skating cause i wanted to get out the house and i got attached to the kids across the street and taught them how to skate ands then i realized this is what i should be doing!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Im a pro skateboarder and i also apart of a couple brands like Brooklyn Projects located on melrose open another location in westchester near LAX last year!

me and my friends also started a brand called Crenshaw Skate Club that is about pushing black/brown kids to get more into skateboarding

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The best knowledge i got during my journey was treat everyone how you wanted to be treated and no matter what community your involved in its a small community so example, if you snap off on someone one day for a incident that could of been handle with convo our with just not speaking [ years later ] that person might be your boss or be in a room that your name brought up and they will block your blessing

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

Was kick me out the house at 19 years old with no car and no job just went out and had to figure it tf out!
