Hi Cynatt, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Life’s journey is often filled with twists and turns, and sometimes, our true purpose lies hidden in unexpected places. This is the story of how I stumbled upon my life’s calling in the world of nails, a path I never anticipated but now wouldn’t trade for anything. My story begins like many others, in a world far removed from nail art and manicures. Nails were never a significant part of my life; in fact, I couldn’t tell a French manicure from a gel polish. My interests and aspirations lay elsewhere, or so I thought. I started nails in 2020 being bored in quarantine. My newfound interest led me to explore nail art tutorials online, experiment with basic nail designs on my own nails, and gradually immerse myself in this captivating world. I discovered that there was so much more to nails than just aesthetics; it was an avenue for self-expression and creativity. As I continued to experiment and learn, I realized that my fascination with nails was evolving into a genuine passion. I found myself spending hours perfecting intricate nail art designs and researching the latest nail care techniques. The joy and satisfaction I derived from this newfound hobby were undeniable. In a moment of clarity, I decided to take a leap of faith and turn my passion into a profession. What began as a casual interest had blossomed into a deep-seated purpose. Building a career in the world of nails was not without its challenges, but I persevered. I embraced continuous learning, attending workshops, and networking with fellow nail enthusiasts and professionals. With time, my talent flourished, and I found fulfillment in helping clients feel confident and beautiful through the artistry of nail care. In retrospect, the journey from a nail novice to a professional in the industry has been nothing short of remarkable. Nails, once an afterthought in my life, became my true purpose. This unexpected discovery taught me that our paths in life are often shaped by the unexpected, and our purpose can emerge from the most unlikely sources. I am grateful for the that time in quarantine, which opened the door to a fulfilling and creative career that I cherish every day.

Please tell our readers about what you do, what you feel is most exciting or special about it, as well as anything else you’d like folks to know about your brand/art/etc. If relevant, please also tell our readers about anything new (events, product/service launches, expansion, etc)
I’ll have to say most exciting thing about nails, particularly nail art and nail care, is the endless creativity and self-expression they offer. Nails are like miniature canvases where I can experiment with colors, designs, and styles. Whether you’re into intricate nail art, bold and vibrant colors, or elegant and understated looks, there’s no limit to the possibilities. The excitement comes from the ability to change your nail style to match your mood, occasion, or personal taste, and the joy of seeing your creativity come to life on your fingertips. Additionally, the nail industry is constantly evolving, introducing new techniques, products, and trends, making it an ever-exciting field to explore and master. Bonding with my nail clients is indeed a special aspect of working in the nail industry. These relationships can be uniquely rewarding for several reasons: Trust and Connection: Clients trust me to care for their nails, and this trust can lead to a strong bond. They often share personal stories and experiences during appointments, creating a sense of connection.
Creating Confidence: When I help clients achieve beautiful and well-maintained nails, it boosts their self-esteem and confidence. Being a part of this transformation can be incredibly fulfilling.
Artistic Expression: Collaborating with clients on nail designs allows me to tap into my creative side. Understanding their preferences and turning their ideas into reality fosters a sense of collaboration and creativity.
Long-Term Relationships: Many clients become regulars, visiting me for months or even years. Over time, I get to know them on a personal level, which can lead to lasting friendships.
Wellness and Self-Care: Nail appointments are often a form of self-care for clients. Being a part of their self-care routine means I contribute to their overall well-being.
Celebrating Milestones: I might be there for clients during special occasions like weddings, birthdays, or holidays. Sharing in their joy and celebrations strengthens the bond.
Support System: Sometimes, clients may confide in me about challenges in their lives. Being a compassionate listener and providing a safe space can be profoundly meaningful.
In the world of nails, it’s not just about manicures and pedicures; it’s about building relationships, boosting confidence, and making a positive impact in the lives of my clients. Bonding with them adds an extra layer of fulfillment to my work.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, my top three skills that really helped my business are creativity, determination and time management. Creativity is a crucial skill for my nail business for several compelling reasons:
Innovation in Nail Art: Creativity allows me to stay at the forefront of nail art trends. Clients are often looking for unique and eye-catching designs. My ability to create innovative nail art sets me apart from competitors.
Customization: Every client is unique with their preferences and style. Creativity enables
Me to tailor my nail services to each client’s individual tastes, ensuring they leave with nails that reflect their personality.
Brand Differentiation: Creativity helps me establish a distinctive brand identity. It gives my business a unique personality that clients remember and recommend to others.
Social Media Presence: In today’s digital age, eye-catching and creative nail designs can go viral on social media platforms, increasing my business’s visibility and attracting new clients.
Inspiration and Trends: As a creative professional, I can draw inspiration from various sources, keeping my work fresh and aligned with current trends.
Expressing My Passion: Creativity is often fueled by passion. When I’m passionate about my work, it shows in the nail designs I create, enhancing the overall client experience.
Client Satisfaction: Ultimately, creative nail services result in satisfied clients who feel pampered and delighted by my work. Happy clients are more likely to become loyal and recommend my services to others.
In the nail business, where aesthetics and self-expression are paramount, creativity is not just a skill; it’s a driving force behind my success. It enables me to continually delight my clients, stand out in the market, and adapt to ever-changing industry trends.
My second important skill would have to be determination for the following reasons.
Overcoming Challenges: The nail industry, like any business, can present challenges. Determination gives me the resilience to face obstacles head-on, whether it’s competition, economic downturns, or unexpected setbacks.
Consistency: Building a successful nail business often requires consistency in service quality, customer relationships, and marketing efforts. Determination ensures that I remain steadfast in maintaining these standards over the long term.
Skill Development: Nail technicians continually evolve their skills to keep up with industry trends. Determination drives me to invest time and effort in ongoing education and improvement.
Marketing and Promotion: Effective marketing and promotion are essential for attracting and retaining clients. Determination ensures that I consistently implement marketing strategies to reach a broader audience.
Client Relationships: Building and maintaining strong client relationships can lead to repeat business and referrals. Determination helps me stay committed to nurturing these relationships.
Goal Achievement: Setting and working toward specific business goals is vital for growth. Determination provides the motivation to pursue these goals relentlessly.
Resilience: The ability to bounce back from setbacks is critical in any business. Determination helps you weather challenges and setbacks with the mindset that they are temporary obstacles to overcome.
Passion: Determination often goes hand in hand with passion. When I’m passionate about my nail business, determination fuels my drive to succeed and make a positive impact in the industry.
Last but not least time management is an invaluable skill for my nail business for several compelling reasons:
Client Appointments: Efficiently managing my time ensures that I can accommodate client appointments without unnecessary delays. Punctuality is essential to building trust with clients and maintaining a professional reputation.
Optimal Productivity: Effective time management allows me to make the most of my work hours. You can complete more services, increasing my revenue potential and client satisfaction.
Balancing Tasks: In a nail business, I have various responsibilities, from client appointments to inventory management and marketing. Effective time management helps me allocate time to each task, preventing any aspect from being neglected.
Quality of Work: Rushed services may result in lower-quality work. Managing my time wisely allows me to dedicate sufficient attention to each client, ensuring high-quality nail care and artistry.
Business Growth: Time management frees up time for strategic activities like marketing, networking, and expanding my client base. These efforts are essential for the long-term growth of my business.
Work-Life Balance: Efficient time management can help my maintain a healthier work-life balance. I can allocate time for personal life and self-care, preventing burnout and improving overall well-being.
Professionalism: Effective time management is a hallmark of professionalism. It shows that I respect my clients’ time, which can lead to increased client retention and positive word-of-mouth referrals.
In summary, time management is a foundational skill that impacts various aspects of my nail business, from client satisfaction and productivity to overall success and well-being. By mastering this skill, I can created a more organized, efficient, and successful nail business.
I use a more more skills but these by far have to be my top three I use very often.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
My biggest obstacle right now is relocating to a new state. Change is never easy, especially when it involves uprooting my established nail business and moving it to a new state with no existing client base.
