Hi Cyrus , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I think turning 45 this year, and going through what I felt was a year of ‘mid-life’ crisis, the existential question of purpose was at the centre of it all. Emerging from this past year’s internal questioning of what my purpose has been and whether I am serving that purpose; I have realized that I had not strayed far, but it is a time of re-defining the original purpose from my youth, with more crystal clarity. For me it has always been simple; to bring people together in unity, whether that is through my own creative work or by helping incredibly talented artists reach their visions of serving such a purpose.Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My approach to work has always been multidisciplinary, primarily as a talent manager, and also expressing my own stories wether fiction or non-fiction, through film. My passion lies in empowering artists to reach their dreams and to help them navigate the complex world of the entertainment industry, as well as to protect their visions. Although historically I have been involved mostly in the music industry, my management interests are now expanding into film as well.As a Talent manager and filmmaker I look at my work with a multidisciplinary approach, both in empowering artists to reach their visions, as well as exploring telling stories, fueled by a passion for freedom of expression and blending ideals and philosophies of Eastern and Western cultures.
At my company ‘Cyrus Talent Management’, based in Los Angeles, we represent Grammy nominated songwriter/producers, as well as an Academy Award winning film director, among other clients. Our firm has overseen music procurement and A&R services for artists such as Madonna, Kygo, Girl’s Generation, IVE, Chris Brown, Armin Van Buuren, Galantis, and countless more; and has serviced major brands and labels such as Disney, Universal, Warner, SM, BMG, Mercedes Benz, Huawei, Apple Beats, Coachella, Tomorrowland, BPM Festival, etc.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If I have to boil it down to 3, I would say firstly; the Simon Sinek approach of Knowing your “WHY” is at the top of the list. This fuels everything you do. Without it, your compass will lead you astray at some point later in your journey.
Secondly, invest time in your well being whether it be physically, mentally, and spiritually, as much as you do in your venture. And third always look at providing more than you receive, whether that is in financial terms or energetic terms, this has been an evident area that I personally have linked to growth.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Meditate. Take time out of your busy and overwhelmed day to meditate for 5 or 10 minutes. You may think you don’t have the time, but this actually helps you come back with clarity, sense of peace and and organized mind that will save you time and stress.
