Meet D.O.L.O.

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful D.O.L.O. a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

D.O.L.O., so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I think the way I hold my creative fortitude is by trying my best to create different experiences as much as I can. Throughout life so many times we can get caught up in the routine and mundane task of just trying to survive, we forget to genuinely take some time for our personal selves to satisfy our longings in life. I feel everybody has something deep down they can express and get off in many ways, whatever their art or craft may be, but if we starve that part of our life out and don’t nurture it to continue to grow as we do then the fire dies out. If you don’t use it then you lose it is a fact, therefore I make a solid effort to keep trying new things and going different places whenever I can just to meet new people. That’s what helps my creativity stay on high.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
If you don’t know already I am the COO of Enfamous Familia Music Group here in the city and DP for Enfamous Films as well. The last year has been pretty good as we have done a lot of traveling and provided recaps for many major events happening around the metro area. Also, we have been keeping the music flowing from our artists who are pumping out great music everyday. Truly, we are nothing less than blessed to be able to continue to place our best foot forward and bring quality visuals and music to the marketplace for people to enjoy. I just pray we can continue on the mission and keep the legacy going for as long as we can.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three major qualities needed in this lifetime are communication, discernment, and financial prowess. Without these I feel it’s going to be pretty tough maneuvering out in today’s world. Many of us are very hyper focused on just what we have going on that the skill of communication has diminished away over the decades. With all the tech floating around and distractions it makes it hard to sit down and have a normal conversation without some type of interruption, but the more you realize this is a fact and try to intentionally combat it then you’ll naturally grow your skill. Discernment is basically knowing what decisions to make at the right time and when it comes to business this is a skill you need to have when dealing with the financials of multiple individuals. Everything is always changing and I feel like without me attaining a strong grasp on these key things early on in life it would have hindered me on my current journey. So the best advice I can give is research everything and take your time, never rush, but be diligent.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Over the last twelve months I have really taken an intuitive to expand my film career and have a camera in my hand 24/7. Once I finished my album I wanted to take a step back from the music side and dig back into another one of my favorite past times. I have always had an affinity for photographs and film, so this year I really expounded on it and made sure we could add some great things to the Enfamous Films catalogue. I was elated to finally put out my album at the top of December and share it with the world. I worked really hard pulling 16 records together to create something I felt flowed together really well and sounded like a solid album. Once it was ready we put it out and now we are here ready to go into 2024. Our next venture is the 10 year anniversary concert for EFMG.
