Meet D-Win

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful D-Win a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

D-Win, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.

My generosity comes from my humble beginnings. I was raised with the mindset that when you’re blessed, you’re meant to bless others. That stuck with me throughout my life. Sometimes I actually have to remind myself to slow down, because I naturally want to give, support, and pour into everyone around me. It’s just who I am, but it also comes from understanding what it feels like to need help and how far a little kindness can go.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a rapper and fashion designer with my record label Winfield Sound and my clothing brand Winfield. I create music and clothing that reflect my journey and the life I come from. What excites me most is sharing my story and connecting with people in a real way. Right now I am focused on releasing new music and building Winfield with fresh collections and drops. Everything I do is about creating a legacy for my family and staying true to who I am.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three qualities that shaped my journey are discipline, creativity, and faith. Discipline keeps me focused on my goals, creativity allows me to bring ideas to life in music and fashion, and faith keeps me grounded through challenges. For anyone starting out, my advice is to build these intentionally. Set consistent goals, take risks and experiment, and stay connected to your values. Developing these areas will help you navigate the ups and downs while staying true to yourself and moving closer to your dreams.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

The book that has played the most important role in my development is the book of Acts in the Bible. It shows the power of faith in action and the importance of taking bold steps even when the path is uncertain. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve taken from it is that growth and impact come from being willing to move, speak, and act with courage, even when the outcome is unknown. Another lesson is the power of community and support, Acts shows how people working together in faith can accomplish extraordinary things. It reminds me to stay faithful, stay active, and trust the process.
