We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Daiana Guastella a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Daiana, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from a deep-rooted belief in the potential of every individual to overcome obstacles and achieve greatness. Growing up in Argentina, I witnessed firsthand the power of determination and hard work. My journey from a legal background to founding and managing FastForward in the United States was filled with challenges, but it was also marked by incredible learning experiences and personal growth.
The support of my family, mentors, and the inspiring stories of other women entrepreneurs have fueled my perseverance. Every setback has been an opportunity to learn and grow stronger. At FastForward, we strive to instill this same resilience in our clients, helping them navigate their unique paths to success.
We are proud of the work we do at FastForward and remain committed to empowering more women entrepreneurs and businesses from around the world. Together, we can create a more inclusive and prosperous future.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: A Note from Daiana Guastella, Manager of FastForward
At FastForward, we believe in the power of women in business. As a woman entrepreneur myself, I understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with leading a company. Our mission at FastForward is to support and empower women in the business world, providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed.
We offer a range of services designed to help businesses navigate the complex landscape of FDA compliance, international trade, and market entry. From legal advice to strategic planning, our team is dedicated to ensuring that our clients can focus on what they do best – growing their businesses.
One of our recent success stories is the establishment of a coffee company in the United States, led by the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele. This venture not only highlights the potential of Latin American entrepreneurs in the global market but also underscores our commitment to supporting businesses from diverse backgrounds. By providing comprehensive support and guidance, we have helped this company thrive in a new market, creating jobs and fostering economic growth.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three most impactful qualities and skills in my journey have been:
Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and environments has been crucial. The business world is dynamic, and being flexible allows you to navigate through uncertainties and seize opportunities.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective communication has been key in building relationships, negotiating deals, and leading teams. Clear and empathetic communication fosters trust and collaboration, which are essential for success.
Knowledge of Legal and Regulatory Frameworks: Understanding the legal and regulatory aspects of the industries we operate in has been fundamental. This knowledge ensures compliance and helps in making informed decisions that align with long-term goals.
What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
For those early in their journey, here are some pieces of advice:
Embrace Learning and Adaptability: Be open to learning from every experience, whether it’s a success or a failure. Stay curious and adaptable, as the ability to pivot when necessary can be a game-changer.
Invest in Communication Skills: Take the time to develop strong communication skills. Whether through public speaking courses, writing workshops, or simply practicing active listening, enhancing your ability to communicate effectively will benefit every aspect of your career.
Educate Yourself on Legal and Regulatory Matters: Gain a solid understanding of the legal and regulatory environment relevant to your industry. This can involve formal education, workshops, or working with mentors who have expertise in these areas. Being well-informed will give you confidence and help you navigate the complexities of the business world.
If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
One of the current challenges we are facing at FastForward is keeping up with the rapidly changing regulatory landscape in the industries we serve. Regulatory changes can have significant implications for our clients, and it is crucial for us to stay ahead of these developments to provide accurate and timely advice. We are continuously investing in our team’s professional development and leveraging technology to ensure we remain at the forefront of these changes. This challenge, while demanding, also presents an opportunity for growth and innovation, allowing us to better serve our clients and maintain our position as a trusted advisor in the industry.
We are proud of the work we do at FastForward and remain committed to empowering more women entrepreneurs and businesses from around the world. Together, we can create a more inclusive and prosperous future.
