Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dallas Jackson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Dallas, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I grew up surrounded by incredible entrepreneurs, including my grandfather, my dad, and the people in their circles. From an early age, I saw not just the rewards of success but also the daily struggles and relentless effort it took to get there. Watching them face challenges head-on and find ways to overcome obstacles taught me that hard work isn’t just about the big wins — it’s about the persistence, problem-solving, and determination you need every day to achieve great things. That mindset has been ingrained in me from a young age.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My career has been a blend of the financial, tech, music, and event management areas. I started in financial services right out of college, was promoted rapidly through the corporate structure eventually launching a new division, what I thought was my dream job within the big bank I worked for, but quickly realized that corporate life wasn’t fulfilling. That led me to more entrepreneurial ventures, like founding TipSee Music, which opened doors to even bigger projects. Now, I’m working on building one of the world’s largest rodeo and music festival with my incredible team that I would consider my extended family. Combining my love for music and events. In parallel, I’ve established myself as an independent financial advisor with Finwell, where I work closely with family and friends to help others secure their financial futures. It’s been an exciting journey, full of unexpected opportunities and challenges that continue to shape my path. While every day is riddled with challenges and uncertainty I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The most essential skill I’ve developed is problem-solving, especially understanding how to approach challenges effectively and preparing ahead to avoid potential issues. Being proactive can make all the difference.
Something my dad always taught me is, ‘Don’t ever forget where you came from; you could lose it all tomorrow.’ That advice has shaped me deeply. Staying humble and genuine, no matter how successful you become, is incredibly important. These days, it’s easy for people to get caught up in shortcuts or stepping over others to get ahead, but it’s not worth sacrificing integrity.
Patience is also critical. Whether you’re starting a small business or organizing something as massive as a music festival, you’ll face a lot of battles—especially when you’re trying to break new ground. Staying grounded and not becoming your own obstacle are key to long-term success.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My dad always entrusted me with a lot of responsibility and encouraged me to pursue challenging experiences outside the norm. This early foundation has been invaluable throughout my life. For example, when I was just 12—the minimum age—he encouraged me to get certified in scuba diving. On my very first open water dive, I was already pushing depths beyond 100 feet. Then, by 15, I started pilot training, and by the time I graduated high school, I held both single- and multi-engine licenses with a complex rating. Being a pilot at 17, responsible for flying friends and family, was a serious responsibility at a young age.
Taking on challenges like these early on taught me resilience and the importance of ‘figuring it out,’ no matter the field. It’s a mindset that has been fundamental in every venture I’ve taken on since.
