We were lucky to catch up with Dana Spanierman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dana, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Becoming a confident and self-assured female entrepreneur didn’t happen overnight—it was a journey of growth, resilience, and self-discovery. In the early stages,
I built my confidence by taking consistent action, celebrating small wins, learning from failures, and surrounding myself with a supportive community of like-minded women and mentors. I stopped comparing my journey to others and began honoring my unique path. With every challenge I overcame, my self-esteem grew stronger. I learned to trust my intuition.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
LEEBA is more than just a jewelry line—it’s a heartfelt tribute to legacy, nature, and timeless craftsmanship. Named after my grandmother’s beloved store in Florida, LEEBA carries forward a spirit of elegance, authenticity, and family roots. Inspired by my deep love for the ocean and beach life, each piece is a reflection of the serenity, strength, and beauty found in coastal landscapes.
What makes LEEBA truly unique is the thoughtful combination of high-quality sterling silver and hand-selected, sliced and polished shells from around the world. Each shell and stone holds meaning—symbols of healing, transformation, and connection that resonate with people in deeply personal ways. These natural elements are more than adornments—they are stories, memories, and energy captured in wearable form.
Every piece of LEEBA jewelry is carefully crafted with attention to detail and quality. I stand proudly behind each design, knowing that what I create isn’t just beautiful—it’s built to last. Whether you’re drawn to the ocean for its peace, power, or inspiration, LEEBA is designed to bring that feeling with you—wherever life takes you.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The journey to creating LEEBA, my ocean-inspired sterling silver jewelry line, has been shaped by three essential elements: creativity, perseverance, and a deep connection to nature.
Creativity has been the heartbeat of LEEBA from the very beginning. Designing each piece required not only artistic vision, but also a desire to tell a story through materials like sterling silver and carefully sourced, meaningful shells. Translating the beauty of the beach and ocean into wearable art has been a deeply personal and rewarding challenge.
Perseverance played a vital role in bringing my vision to life. As a female entrepreneur, there were moments of doubt and obstacles that could have derailed me—but my belief in the brand, and in the legacy I wanted to build, gave me the strength to keep going. Building something authentic and lasting takes time, patience, and resilience.
Lastly, my connection to nature and ocean life has influenced every decision in this journey—from the materials I choose to the stories each piece tells. I’ve taken time to study the meanings behind the shells and stones I use, ensuring each design resonates with the wearer and holds a deeper significance.
To anyone beginning their journey of becoming an entrepreneur or business owner, my advice is this: Don’t wait for the perfect time—start where you are. Stay connected to what inspires you, be willing to learn as you go, and trust your instincts.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
As an entrepreneur, stress and becoming overwhelmed are often part of the journey. Over time, I’ve learned that handling stress isn’t about avoiding pressure, but about building habits and mindsets that help me navigate it with clarity and strength.
When I start to feel overwhelmed, I pause and prioritize. I take a step back, look at what truly needs my attention, and break big tasks into manageable steps. I’ve found that staying organized is an essential key to managing stress.
I also make it a point to take care of myself. That means carving out time for rest, spending time in nature (especially near the ocean), and surrounding myself with people who uplift and support me. Creative breaks, even just a walk or moment of stillness, help me return to my work with renewed focus and perspective.
