Meet Daniel And Phillip Chaplygin

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daniel And Phillip Chaplygin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Daniel and Phillip, thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.

Burnout, in my experience, is very common among creatives. I find that burnout is something I constantly have to keep in my awareness. Over the years, I’ve learned to deal with burnout by mindfully resting and taking days off when stress levels are high. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is nothing at all.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Spice Intuition is an alternative rock band founded in the summer of 2023 by frontman Daniel Chaplygin and drummer Parker Zanone. Our music is best described as alternative rock with strong flavors of funk, jazz, Latin, and reggae. Recently, we filmed our first-ever music video for the song titled 1515. We are anticipating this video to be released sometime in the next couple of months.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three most important qualities/areas of knowledge that were most impactful on our journey are undoubtedly:
– Deep passion/love/hunger to create music
– Patience
– The ability to disregard harsh criticism

At the end of the day, even if you create art to be consumed by the public, creativity is the purest form of self-expression. We find it incredibly important to create art that we would personally consume and enjoy. Even if the whole world hates something you created, as long as you love and are proud of your creations, you’re untouchable.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

The number one obstacle our band is currently faced with is the fact that all members work full-time jobs. We love the band. We love creating. We love performing. However, unfortunately, it is essential to have a stable income in order to pay bills and maintain funding for this beautiful hobby. Of course, like any optimistic artist, our goal is to be able to commit to the band full-time one day. In the meantime, we’re doing all we can with recording, rehearsing, filming videos, etc. There’s a lot to look forward to, world. Stay tuned!
