Meet Daniel Aycock

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daniel Aycock. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Daniel, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
Surrounded by a life of Hip-Hop Music, Dance Video Games, and Films, I have been able to fight this war we call “Life”. My life has been extremely difficult with the toxicity that involves people who always made fun of me and could never accept me for who I am. Mental Abuse is real out here. Be careful who you associate with.

Whenever i hear a beat to record a song, i become relaxed.
Whenever i dance to a game in the arcade called Dance Dance Revolution, i become relaxed.
Whenever i go to a movie theatre, I become relaxed.

My solo travels to different cities on my days off make me stronger because i end up meeting strangers who become
my best loving friends, and there is a wise saying that when you connect & network with other people outside where
you were born, you become more appreciated then where you once were!

Moving around on my free time while carrying my talent around helps me survive in this harsh society.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My journey consists of many adventures that keep me happy. For months, i have been suffering from Depression, and most individuals will know what that is or means. Rapping as a live performer has always let me ventilate my expressions as a human being especially when i get to interact with a crowd, and that always helped with my emotions. However, a music career can be financially draining because an Artist has to keep investing in themselves going from studio time, music visuals, graphics, photoshoots, interviews etc, and so even me has to venture off to other things to keep me alive while i keep my money stability up until the next solo track or project comes up in the near future.

On my spare time, I LOVE to travel toward different cities and countries to meet new people. I am a big fan of Networking.

Rap reminds me of martial arts, a talent that takes many art-forms, shapes, & sizes. There are different types of flows, patterns, rhyme structures that you can incorporate into your instrumentals as you record. The skill-set that i emphasize alot to other people whether its strangers, friends, relatives, colleagues, is the art of FREESTYLE.

The art of FREESTYLE RAPPING is when we come up with RHYME algorithms from our mental to do an unplanned rap in front of our Friends & Fans. That takes day-after-day practice. And that is where skill started back in the old days of the
hip-hop era, where individuals practiced this art-form in the origins of the streets to make a name for themselves.

I go by a stage name of TME Shinobi.
Music is currently released on all distributing platforms (YouTube, Spotify, Deezer, iHeartRadio etc…)

My style influences are based on old-school/underground era of rap, such as A Tribe Called Quest, Immortal Technique, Channel Live, KRS-One, Cypress Hill, Cunninlynguists, Eyedea, Psalm One, MF Doom, Oldominion, Step Brothers,
Abstract Rude, Lords Of The Underground, Kool G Rap, Rakim, AZ, and much more.

I am also a fan of rock/metal bands such as Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, Fallout Boy, Good Charlotte, Lamb Of God, Slipknot, Skillet, Bad Omens, Godsmack, Trapt, Korn, Aerosmith, Paramore, Evanescence, and much more.

As of now, I am working on my mental health to exercise my rights as a human being to stay happy on this planet we called Earth. As of music releases, I am trying to push at least one single track a month or so to keep my Friends & Fans entertained.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Believe In God

2. Protect Your Energy

3. Acquire Skill To Adapt

I believe in development over improving, Develop what is yours and keep moving forward.
Do what it is in all costs to not let anyone interrupt what you got in store for the ones that you love.
Let the force of nature bring you to your successful destination.
Avoid violence & negativity.
Only be friends with someone who admire your kindness and loving trait.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
Yes there is.

Unfortunately, I still have people till this day who can not accept me for who I am.

I still keep the same energy of being kind, loyal, and fun, wanting to be nice to everyone everyday no matter what.

However , i still suffer from rejection from most social circles.

Which is why I choose to be alone most of the time.
