Meet Daniel Meek

We were lucky to catch up with Daniel Meek recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Daniel with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I believe work ethic is something you absorb through example, and I was fortunate to have two incredible role models. My father ran his own business, so I saw firsthand what it means to take responsibility, show up consistently, and keep going—whether things were going well or not. That taught me the value of discipline and persistence.

My mother had a different kind of entrepreneurial spirit. She never accepted the expectations others had for her and built a career by constantly challenging herself and seeking new opportunities. From her, I learned adaptability, ambition, and the mindset to create your own path. Together, their examples shaped how I approach work at Best Clean KC—consistent effort, high standards, and the belief that small habits, done well every day, build something meaningful over time.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

At Best Clean KC, our focus is simple: providing top-tier facility solutions that help businesses operate at their best. We believe that a clean, well-maintained space isn’t just about appearances—it’s about creating an environment where teams can thrive and clients feel confident. What excites me most is knowing that our work plays a part in the daily success of businesses across Kansas City.

Every facility has unique needs, so we tailor our services—whether it’s daily janitorial work, deep cleans, or specialized solutions—to fit each client perfectly. We’re proud of the consistency and reliability our team brings to every job because we know small details, done right every time, make a big difference.

Right now, we’re expanding our offerings to include more facility solutions such as organization and data center cleaning and flexible scheduling options that fit the evolving needs of local businesses. Our goal is simple: to be the trusted partner businesses rely on for clean, safe, and welcoming spaces every single day.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities stand out as the most impactful in my journey: curiosity, resilience, and problem-solving.

Curiosity drives growth. It pushes you to ask questions, explore new approaches, and continuously learn. In the cleaning and facility solutions business, that curiosity helps us stay ahead—finding better products, more efficient processes, and tailored solutions for each client.

Resilience is what keeps you going. Challenges will come—whether it’s meeting tight deadlines or handling unexpected issues—but resilience allows you to stay focused and push through. It’s about showing up, even on the tough days, and maintaining the standard you set.

Problem-solving ties it all together. Every client, every facility brings its own set of needs. The ability to break down issues, adapt quickly, and provide practical solutions is what builds trust and long-term success.

My advice for those early in their journey? Use your daily interactions as opportunities to fine-tune these skills. Every conversation is a chance to learn something new. Every challenge is a chance to build resilience. And every problem—big or small—is a chance to improve your ability to find smart solutions. Mastering these fundamentals through everyday experiences will prepare you for the bigger opportunities ahead.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

Over the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been learning to delegate. It’s been a real challenge because I genuinely enjoy the work we do—cleaning, organizing, and delivering results. My default has always been to roll up my sleeves and get the job done. But I’ve come to realize that while doing the work is rewarding, it doesn’t always help the business grow.

The tough part has been balancing my passion for the day-to-day work with the bigger picture—spending time on strategy, building relationships, and focusing on opportunities that will move the business forward. Delegation isn’t just about handing off tasks; it’s about trusting the team and giving them space to step up so I can invest time where it matters most.

It’s still a work in progress, but I’m learning that growth happens when you let go of the things you’ve mastered to focus on new challenges. For Best Clean KC to continue growing, I have to spend more time working on the business, not just in it.”
