We recently connected with Daniel Pearson and have shared our conversation below.
Daniel , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my parents. Growing up, I watched my mother work two jobs to make sure my brother and I never went without. She sacrificed her true dreams so we could have a better life. On weekends, my father would pick me up and expose me to everything—from homelessness to wealth—teaching me that the choice was mine, but that nothing would come without hard work. Watching my mother’s sacrifices and my father’s relentless pursuit of his dreams showed me both sides: survival and ambition. That’s where my drive comes from.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m the Founder & Creative Director of Ostrich Braille, a Los Angeles-based clothing brand built on craftsmanship, storytelling, and movement. Ostrich Braille was born from my personal journey — from growing up between New York and Connecticut, to moving across the country in pursuit of a dream. I was inspired early on by a blind client I worked with, who taught me to prioritize texture and detail over appearances — that foundation still shapes everything I create today.
At Ostrich Braille, every piece is designed with intention — from locally grown Supima cotton sweatsuits to handcrafted denim and canvas sets. We believe in honoring the craft, staying grounded, and moving fast. It’s not just fashion; it’s a lifestyle for those who live boldly, chase their dreams, and understand that real luxury is built, not bought.
Right now, I’m expanding the brand through new categories like performance gear for the Ostrich Braille Run Club and our upcoming first pop-up event in Los Angeles, blending fashion, culture, and movement in an immersive way. I’m also in the early stages of launching a nonprofit aimed at supporting mentally challenged youth — a full-circle moment that ties back to the people who first inspired me.
More than anything, I want readers to know that Ostrich Braille isn’t just about clothes — it’s about a mindset. Stand tall. Stick out. Stay grounded. Move fast. Feel the vision. That’s the spirit behind everything I do.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Work ethic, self-belief, and resilience.
Work ethic will carry you when motivation fades. Self-belief will keep you moving when no one claps for you. Resilience will get you through the setbacks.
My advice? Outwork your doubt, protect your vision, and remember: slow growth is still growth.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m always looking to collaborate with those who move with real intention. Brands like New Balance inspire me because they stay rooted in craftsmanship while pushing culture forward — something Ostrich Braille stands for, too.
I’m not just looking to partner — I’m looking to build moments that matter. If that resonates with you, reach out to me through my website or Instagram. Let’s make something timeless.
