Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daniel Quintanilla. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Daniel, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
It’s all about that drive to do well. But that’s just a fraction of it. It’s largely about getting the story out there as fast as possible. And making sure you’re celebrating the topic or people you’re writing about. It all comes down to news urgency. I’ll admit, there’s times currently where my full time occupation keeps me from being immediate with my writing. But I do the best I can. It’s always on my mind until I get it done. Finding that time and space to just write trying not to feel pressure.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
DANIEL PLUS LAUREN is a social news destination primarily focused on fashion taking place in New York City. It happens at New York Fashion Week, fashion trade shows, and through fashion PR events. DPL is also about raising awareness of fashion on celebrities from all kinds of places, plus fashion sent to you from highly noted PR houses.
Heading into 2025 means it’s time to get ready for NYFW with runway shows and PR events. Plus highly noted trade shows such as Curve, NY NOW, and Coterie. Added shows include high end homes and hospitality with ICFF and BDNY. There’s also a little fun and seriousness outside fashion thrown into the DPL sphere in the 5 boroughs of NYC.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Learning about all the details of the field or occupation you choose to be passionate about.
Paying attention to detail at event inch possible.
Go and find work and activities you love early on so you can persevere your entire life in.
Make time for fun, choose your work wisely. Allow yourself to have freedom to be creative however possible.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
Normally not a question I’d easily want to settle on. However, I learned that it’s just more brilliant to focus more on your strengths because you know early on what path you want to take, without conflict along the way.
You become well-rounded by having a conscience about people you work with, live in your life, and with your friends. Understanding when it’s the best time to speak the right words to actions depending on the circumstances.
