Meet Daniella Rushton

We recently connected with Daniella Rushton and have shared our conversation below.

Daniella, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my creative purpose, my gift, in my forties, when my son challenged me to write a book. It was also around this time that my faith was awakened.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a writer and author of The Panther Tales trilogy. I write in the fantasy genre, my work includes fantasy fiction, fairytales and poetry. The most exciting part of my work is imagining and creating whole new worlds, characters, places and events. I think the most special part of my work is the moral value in my storytelling.
All of my work falls under the brand, The Panther Tales. The core message being ‘Believe’. This magical word threads through, featuring in all my fantasy work offering readers escapism, where anything is possible.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Creativity
Focus
Faith

Creativity is all around if we are open to receive it. I am highly imaginative but also open to absorbing everything around me, all of creation and what it has to offer.
Focus has been a necessity in my work. Writing a trilogy, focus is imperative to ensure everything comes together down to minute details.
Faith and ‘panther passion’ has been the driving force in fulfilling the trilogy. Faith in an inspiring sense and belief to see it through.
All of these areas take diligence. Creating has its pleasures but to see the project through takes perseverance.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

As I continue to create I hope to collaborate with other creatives. Particularly in Theatre and Film. I am currently adapting Book One in The Panther Tales trilogy to stage for my local theatre, The Venture Theatre in Ashby de la Zouch, England. Being a new comer to theatre, I am in the process of learning and stretching my mind on how the world of The Panther Tales can be received in this way. I would love to learn and seek out the skillset of others to bring my magical story of belief alive.
