We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Danielle Darowz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Danielle below.
Hi Danielle, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Finding your purpose is so multi-faceted. I say this because, as my life journey has occurred, there have been many purposes, and I am still on that journey. I’ve always thought that I am here on this earth for a reason. Not simply to take up space, but to do something with my life, and share my experiences. Has it been easy, no. Have I learned lessons, yes. Is the purpose finally making sense, yes! Life truly is this path that takes twists and turns, and sometimes it makes sense, sometimes it does not. Life started to make sense around five years ago through a series of synchronicities. Now, as an internationally Certified Spiritual Advisor specializing in Psychic Medium, and animal communication, I can bring clarity to my clients, ease their grief, and gain insight into so many aspects of their lives, including their pets. It is like this light and doors opened and it felt right. Serving others has been and will continue to be my life purpose. As a woman with more life knowledge, I share my experiences and guide others. I love doing that! Whether it is a session, writing, speaking, or mentoring. Heart source is where I am at. Ego’s can stay at the door; I’ve had enough of those over the years to last a lifetime.
It took a series of events in my 20-plus years in an information technology career, 20 years of volunteering, and some very significant losses in my life to see my purpose today. It was there from a little girl, I felt it but just did not understand it. Sometimes I did not feel like I belonged. Early on when I graduated from university, I was one of a small group of ladies graduating with my degree at my school. IT back then was very male-dominated, as was the majority of my career. I wanted to make a difference and mentor young girls interested in database design, and computer programming. I was very fortunate in my experiences, but I had to work twice as hard to be taken seriously it seemed. My goal back then was to be a CIO. I cannot tell you how many times I’d even have other women or men at the state agency I worked at ask me if I was an assistant, when in fact I was in management. It was like I had to prove my brains. But, in the end, it built character. I am proud of the young professional I was and the cancer research I assisted. Then, one day, I read an article in our local paper, and I knew I needed to help the homeless animals. I’ve always had this incredible connection with animals, and I could use my business and organizational skills to do something. I helped build a few programs/not-for-profits that are still around today. It opened a beautiful network of compassionate people. Though, there are some self-serving ones too that you need people skills to navigate. You learn to navigate that, and honestly, I was using my intuition even then. I have this ability to read the room, relationships, and people’s agendas. It has served me well in life, and career. I was using my psychic abilities and not even knowing it.
My purpose now is to allow others to gain insight from my experience, and help them navigate through my spiritual guides. How beautiful is that? Empathy, patience, and ethics are at the core of all I do and bring to the table. The doors that have opened while studying psychic, mediumship, and animal communication are amazing. The people I have met and been mentored by are truly incredible. My heart is so warm just thinking about it. When I say heart source, I mean it. If I had not followed this path, I would have never had the opportunity to come forward to be an author. That is something that came across my path, I said yes, and well, made it happen. It still blows my mind that I am a best-selling author now, with a second collaboration book, Paws and Purpose coming out. The first collaboration book was Awaken Your Magic. Lifting others up with no agenda is the greatest joy. Sometimes I wish I had over the years, but, now I let my persistence and obstacles I’ve overcome be the foundation to serve others and share so much, including a show and podcast in development.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My brand is all heart source. People wonder what that is. It is coming most authentically from my heart. Being authentically me, and sharing that with you and your pets. My business is less than a year old and very much in development today. It was a 25-year path to get here. I’ve had a very professional career as a programmer, database manager, VP of information systems, traveling consultant, and most recently lead business analyst working at one of the top-rated health insurance companies. I’ve done this at the same time while going back to school at night during the pandemic. I have helped so many animals in my community through my not-for-profit work. When I was 26, I created my first not-for-profit, and things went from there. It got big very fast, but then, decided to get small again. It is a lot managing a career, household, family, friendships, and volunteering. When I look back I was gone a lot, I have some guilt I’ve worked through around doing what felt like too much. I’ve decided to re-evaluate and step back from that to make space for this business, and well, the juggling of elderly parents too.
Last year I filmed my very first show called Food & Spirits with Dani. Two episodes are in development and will be coming out this year. Fingers crossed for the stars to align. The opportunity came up, and I have an amazing friend who supported me and her media company, Dawn Ricci Media pitched it to a major production company. Not to mention other amazing friends who stepped in with their filming and editing skills to help. How amazing to have that in my life. So humbling and I have so much gratitude to them. Then, I am taking this and building a PodCast right now to share these stories. It combines my love of food with my spiritual gifts.
I love home and garden, and I’ve been practicing forever for this. I come from a family of amazing cooks, and I used to help my grandma and my parents at the family deli even at age 7 peeling potatoes and learning the recipes.
Last year my first collaboration book, Awaken Your Magic was published. I wrote one chapter with a lot of talented writers. I’m very proud to share my chapter “Unleashed Souls: A Spiritual Unveiling Through Canine Connections”. I was so humbled that it hit Amazon Best Seller in less than a day of being launched. Still can’t believe it. Then, after that, I got the writer bug and said yes to another chapter. The book is called Paws and Purpose. Final edits are in process right now by As You Wish Publishing!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back the most important thing is Intuition. Listen to yourself, your voice in your head (my guides), and your gut feelings. Second, pay attention to the signs and opportunities that occur. They are there, and you need to be aware enough to see them. If you keep ignoring it, those signs will get louder, trust me!
Empathy is important too. Whether it be in my corporate career, volunteering, or my spiritual business. If you approach situations and people with this, you will change the energy of the room.
One piece of advice that has served me well over the years is my grandmother saying, “Consider the Source”. When you see someone doing something unethical or being unkind, it is a battle they are having, and do not take it personally.
As I’ve gained more knowledge I’ve learned to stand up for myself and no longer let others treat me unkind. Some call it boundaries. I would have been better at it years ago, most of the time I said nothing to keep the peace. Now, don’t let that environment be part of your life if you can help it. Create a nice protection around you. Set that intention! This is something I learned going to Lisa Williams International School of Spiritual Development.
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
Part of my business is not only to serve others but to genuinely collaborate with others like myself. As someone brand new to this, and building a business at night and on the weekends, it has its challenges. I’ve hired a wonderful website copywriter who has a soulful approach (the website will be live early this Summer), and I am looking for someone to help build the podcast and edit the film. These items are in this little pile of to-do’s. I’ll keep moving forward and truly look forward to other heart-centered people who will come into my life as we work together. I am a firm believer in being authentic. Has it been easy, no, but I am loving where the universe is hand in hand taking me to. I look forward to crossing paths with all of you out there too.
