We recently connected with Danielle Moreland-Ochoa and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
Every time I think about that fact that I only have one life, one chance to have this experience, I can feel my brain rewiring. It’s a really good thing to remind myself of, because when I only have one shot, I have to at least be able to say I gave it everything I had. I want to spend most of my time doing things that really fill me up or else I’ll be the saddest old person and I plan on being happy til the day I die.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My whole life I have been a singer and performer. I am a broadway baby who decided to go to a contemporary music school😅 I really had to self teach on hyper drive being surrounded by peers who had been working with making original music since they could walk. I began songwriting and composing there and have been managing an independent artist project since. I really like every creative part of the process. I do videography and music production for myself and other artists. one of my favorite things to do is edit photos on adobe lightroom. It’s literally an addiction.
Art made by human beings, in all it’s lovely forms is an essential nutrient for changing things in a positive way in this world. Period. It’s so important! I want to help this crazy world heal. If you dig the idea of pondering and sondering along with a really good song, I release music and content underneath the artist name “your friend juniper”. I’ve got a single coming out next month and just moved to Nashville, so I’ll be gigging a lot there and that part of the country coming up : )
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Patience, Discipline, Desire. You really have to want it more than anyone else and be willing to work hard and be diligent in your craft. The daydreams are your brain showing you your desires but you have to be the one to push yourself towards it. Listen and learn from those who are where you want to be instead of being jealous of them and ask for help when you need it. Collaborate and support other artists with all your might.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Right now I am looking for management and publishing. I love songwriting and have a vault of content that I’d love to do things with. My artist project is growing and I would love to work with someone looking for artists to represent. I’m super active with my fanbase so DM me on instagram or email me and we can collaborate.
