We were lucky to catch up with Danielle Nicole recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I learned to stop comparing my work to other people that’s in the same industry as me. I learned to just love my work because there’s a clientele for everyone. At the end of the day you have a certain group of people that will text you or book you for a service because they love your results. You just have to take a step back sometime and review pictures and videos of your work. You’d be surprised how good your work actually is without your self criticism clouding your head with negative thoughts. I have people tell me that they love my work and that they’ve traveled a great distance for the service. That’s such a nice thing to know and it definitely helps my confidence.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I provide makeup, lash and hair services. I love providing lash and makeup services because it makes my clients feel good about themselves. Seeing their reaction to their results is my favorite part. I will be having my grand opening July 2023. I will release the date soon so stay on the look out.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Professionalism, patience and acceptance. With being an entrepreneur you cannot be closed-minded. It’s okay to know what you want and when you want it but if the universe points you into a certain direction, then go with it. I had to learn to accept certain things with owning a business and so far it’s been going well. I’m still learning but everything will come in due time. You have to have patience when building your brand. When you first start off you really just wanna practice and get your name out there. Word of mouth is a great way to get new clients and customers. Don’t let social media discourage you, do self promotion in person. It’s a great way to get your following up on your social media accounts for your business. Always remember that you have to remain professional at all times. No matter the situation. Once you have an unprofessional label on you it’s hard to make it go away. Word of mouth can have a positive or negative affect but it’s up to you to control the narrative.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my mother did for me is be my number one supporter. Til this day she motivates me even when I’m having doubts. She has been an investor in my brand. I’m so thankful for her.
