Meet Danielle Schulz

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Danielle Schulz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?

I make sure to move my body every day (almost!). As a former professional dancer, movement was my life. For decades, movement was how I reset my brain, found stability, and regulated emotions. Now, even though I’m no longer dancing full-time, movement is my anchor. I try to schedule some kind of class or session daily, whether it’s yoga, pilates, or ballet. If that’s not in the cards for the day, I throw on a 10-min Peloton fitness video (not cycling, it’s just not for me). Having ‘checked the box’ of exercise for the day, I feel a sense of accomplishment AND empowerment. Plus, it allows me to show up as my best self to clients and to my two high-energy, young boys.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I run The Triangle Sessions, a corporate wellness company dedicated to helping teams feel more connected, energized, and supported—whether they’re in the office, hybrid, or fully remote. We recently relocated to Charlotte, NC, and are excited to support local employees in their wellness journey while continuing to work with companies nationwide.

As a former professional dancer with the Metropolitan Opera, I’ve experienced firsthand how movement, mindfulness, and community can transform performance and well-being. I bring that same philosophy to corporate spaces, helping teams build a culture of self-care that isn’t just a perk, but also a foundation for success.

We’re especially excited to launch a new Annual Wellness Program, available both in Charlotte and virtually, designed to help companies seamlessly integrate well-being into their workplace culture. Our goal is to make wellness simple, accessible, and impactful—so employees feel their best, and teams thrive together.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. CONSISTENCY. I was never the best dancer, but I was consistent. I took class regularly, I showed up on time, I was reliable. Management trusted me and this quality allowed for consistent employment for 15 years, even in an unstable industry. This consistency has led me to have excellent client relationships at The Triangle Sessions and ensure high-quality programming.

2. MAKE SPACE FOR WHAT MATTERS—WITHOUT OVERLOADING YOUR SCHEDULE. As a dancer, I learned that if you don’t leave space for recovery, you crash and burn—aka, get injured. The same goes for work and business. Over-scheduling leads to burnout and kills creativity. At The Triangle Sessions, we help teams prioritize well-being by creating room for movement, mindfulness, and rest. It’s in those pauses where the magic happens.

3. TAKE INTEREST IN OTHER PEOPLE. Ask questions, learn about those around you. Take a genuine interest in their lives. It’s the easiest way to connect. It not only builds rapport, but you get to learn about others’ lived experiences. It’s an enriching dynamic.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

My ideal client is someone who’s deeply invested in their employees’ well-being, both as individuals and as part of the team. They truly care about their people and want to see them thrive—not just in the work they do, but in their lives overall. They understand that corporate wellness isn’t just a box to check off; it’s an embodied way of living that starts with the leadership and permeates throughout the company. These are leaders who recognize that happy, healthy employees are the key to a successful organization. They’re open-minded and creative in finding solutions. They prioritize connection and community first. This ideal client knows that the bottom line improves when employees feel supported, valued, and empowered to do their best work.
