Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daphany B. Kelly. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Daphany, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
One of the most courageous & intentional act one can do for themselves is to find their Own Purpose; after finding your Purpose, it’s critical to then Walk in your Purpose. Joshua 1:9 reminds us that God commanded us to be strong and courageous, and not to be afraid. It takes true bravery and courage to find, then walk in your Purpose, and I must admit; it doesn’t happen overnight. The Only way I found my Purpose is by following God & allowing Him to lead and guide me and my life. I’ll be honest; finding my Purpose wasn’t easy, I would say it was probably one of the most difficult walks in my journey. We make plan, after plan, after plan and while making plans, we often forget who and whose we are and who is truly the one in charge of our lives, it’s not up to me, I have no control! Once we realize that we have no control; Everything changes!!
I’m reminded of one of my favorite scriptures Jeremiah 29:11; that my job is to follow God’s Plan for my life as he knows the plans for my life, plans for a hope and a future so it was only right that I let go & let God have full control over the plans of my life and for me to just allow Him to do His Will & His Work. That was the awakening moment in my life when I allowed him to lead & guide me through every single decision I made in my life no matter how big or small it was, if it would have an affect in/on my life, I made no decisions without consulting and praying to our Lord!
In my walk with Jesus; I changed my entire perspective. I completely changed the way I think, I operate this way in both my Life & Professionally in our Business. I operate fully by Scripture in Colossians 3:23-24 And whatever you do, do it from the heart (with all your heart) for the Lord and not for man and you will receive the reward from Him (which is the Greatest Reward)!! For me, that is how you Walk In & Fulfill God’s Purpose do Everything unto and for Him and setting my mind on Him, not on things that are out of my control (whether in my personal or professional life) truly Serving Him & His Children is my Mission!
Being very Intentional regarding Everything in my life, setting achievable Goals, Always being a Student to continue learning and educating myself to obtaining different Certifications to add to our Portfolio, sharpening my skills in my crafts, Stepping outside of my comfort zone and connecting with other people and Professionals outside of my normal circle all have allowed me to Find My Purpose God has for me. I can’t express how vital it is to your life’s purpose that changing the way you think/your perspective and the environment you surround yourself with will also help you find your purpose. God works through people and if you’re not surrounding yourself with people who will challenge you and push you towards your greatness and purpose; you’re doing yourself, your family, and your Community a disservice in addition to wasting precious time to truly walk in your Purpose. We need people in every aspect of our lives to achieve particular goals and I’m a firm believer in changing your Network to Change Your Net-Worth!!
Having the right people in your life is critical to your Lifeline and every aspect of your life, not just people, but people who truly believe in you and your dreams even when you don’t, these individuals will help motivate you and keep pushing you toward your future goals whether spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially and you have to have strong representation in all these areas of your life. All of these aspects have kept me grounded to challenge myself to pursue my purpose and when I learned that I’m to do Everything as if I’m working for the Lord and not man; that truly changed the trajectory of my Life and my perspective on Life. Each and everything I do is from my heart and to Honor God by Serving and helping others. When I begin to put myself in positions to Serve others; that was the core of the very existence of Finding My Purpose!!
Lastly; following God’s Plan for my life and walking in my Purpose has allowed me to gain knowledge and education that was lacked in my family and Community; which is understanding the value and how powerful Life Insurance and planning for Retirement truly is. From planning for the most crucial and sensitive areas in life such as Life Insurance, Mortgage Protection, Medicare, Social Security, Financial & Retirement Planning, down to one’s Final arrangements; this has allowed me to break Generational curses and cycles and change the perspective views for myself and others for their own family. I had no idea and didn’t understand what God was doing in my life by allowing me to become educated in all of these areas but I’m FOREVER Grateful & Thankful to God because I’ve been able to Serve & help my very close family members, friends, and community navigate through these complicated aspects in their lives, now that’s the true definition of Finding Your Purpose when your Purpose serves not only you but everyone around you, I Absolutely Love what God has allowed me to do, to Serve others!!
Thinking back and going down memory lane as we say, I notice that God knew exactly what he was doing in my Career & Entrepreneur Journey, when I look back over my past employment; it has Always been to help & serve others. This started when I was young; having a heart to help others no matter what they needed. I’ve had the honor in serving in many capacities in the realm of Customer Service & Relations field in the Restaurant, Hospitality, Pest Control, Travel, Financial, Life Insurance, and Retirement Planning Industries, having served in these Industries truly helped shape and mold me to build a strong foundation in our Businesses to serve our clients.

We teach how it’s so important to get Life Insurance while you’re young, for our young adults in the Community, even for parents to get their children insured while they are young, right after birth, is best! If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most important qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey was understanding God’s Plan for my life, having & keeping Faith, and believing in myself, thereafter Everything else fell right in place! Staying true to my beliefs and remaining Humble during my journey is what kept me grounded. I always kept in mind that the Gift God gave to me was Never mine to keep; I was to give His Gift to the World! Operating my Business on a Professional level and never taking shortcuts was one of the qualities that allowed our Business to remain Successful. Providing Quality Service to all of our clients and treating them like the true VIP’s they are, is what kept our client return & referral ratio at its highest!
In addition; be sure to hone in on your craft, this means INVEST in yourself & your Business. Take the necessary Classes and Courses required to become knowledgeable & Certified in your area of expertise and Industry. Most importantly, Network with others in your Industry as well as those in other Industries, there’s a saying “Network To Change Your Net-Worth” Never take NO for a final answer, remember when one door closes God creates another that was meant for you, keep in mind what God has for YOU IS FOR YOU & no one can stop what God has planned for you! Don’t wait for opportunities to fall in your lap, Create Your OWN!
My most significant advice I’d offer is to follow the plan God set out for you, operate in YOUR Gift, to operate all aspects of your Life with Scriptures Colossians 3:23-24. One of my many Mantras is how you do one thing is how you do Everything!! Whether personal or professionally, I operate and Serve with Love, Integrity, Dignity, Humility, Compassion, and Quality Service! I’d lend another piece of advise to Be a Leader and not a follower, you don’t have to follow every trend especially if they don’t align with God, your morals, and values, always stay true to yourself and incorporate all of the qualities, skills, and knowledge I mentioned above and you can’t go wrong in any area of our life & Entrepreneurial Journey! Keep God first in ALL that you do & watch how He’ll allow His Light to shine through you for the World to see, His Gift!! What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I think it’s best to go all in on your individual, unique, God-given strengths, and Gifts to Serve others and Walk In Your Purpose. Ask God to strengthen you in all areas of your Personal & Professional Life where you are weak or lacking of anything. By using your own unique, God-given strengths and Gifts it allows you to improve in areas you aren’t strong in by connecting to God, acknowledging your weaknesses then working on those weak areas in your life, one-by-one to gain strength where needed. I had to effectively hone in on my weaknesses to be able to achieve goals in my life and career. Being a student and learning from others who are where I’m trying to get was the cornerstone of my journey, I began to be like a sponge, always connecting with other Professionals, always attending and joining in-person and virtual trainings and webinars to gain the education, knowledge, and expertise I needed to be successful in my Career & Entrepreneur fields. We all know that practice helps you perfect the weak areas in your life or work.
I was very intentional about practicing and showing up, this ranged from practicing different scripting, trial & error, finding what works best to better service our clients needs, to volunteering alongside others to learn different strategies to implement in our Businesses, from practicing for public speaking events, and just showing up for others & supporting & serving them at their events. I mentioned volunteering; which is an act of service that has paved the way in many aspects of my life & entrepreneur journeys, I’m talking things money just can’t buy, you’re unselfishly making a sacrifice to give one of the most valuable gifts to others…Your Time & I was extremely intentional about giving away My Time that I can never get back, but it has been one of the most rewarding acts of service I can ever do & will continue doing. All of these different avenues can help you strengthen yourself & change the trajectory of your life and the lives of everyone around you!! I challenge you to give yourself to others or a cause by volunteering then watch how everything changes for the best!!
