Darien , appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
I keep my creativity alive by channeling my inner being and challenging myself to view and feel things from different perspectives other than my own.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Darien Davis but I go by the my stage name Darien The Great. I am a Recording Artist, Musician and Songwriter from Titusville, FL. I am a performer and have been performing for more than 20 years of my 30 year old life.

I own a business called New Classic Records where I use it as a platform for artists like myself to showcase their talents. I also own a Event Planning & Music Entertainment business called New Classic Events where I DJ and Host Weddings & Events.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I feel like the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey was my willingness to learn and become a student of my craft by studying the greats, music theory and literature and also learning to develop a business acumen for the music industry as well.

Never being afraid to take chances and take advantage of opportunities that presented itself and networking and meeting people who have the same passion you share to learn from them. Lastly believing in my talent and following my dreams awhile remaining humble and down to earth.

One piece of advice that I can provide to those are in the early stages of their journey is no matter how obtainable your goals are, chase them. Don’t be afraid to start, or wait until you’re ready to start, just start and figure out everything as you go. Learn and continue to study and develop your skills, knowledge and craft. Be genuinely true to yourself..

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was allowing me to find out what I was most passionate about and supporting it 100%. They started me with piano lessons when I was 7 years old, bought countless keyboards, microphones, amps, supported me in Elementary School through College in band. Building a soundproof studio in our home growing up. Coming to support me in countless recitals and shows. Even to this day supporting my businesses and my brand. They have been my biggest supporters throughout my entire life.
