I develop my confidence and self-esteem through setting goals (whether personal or for my business) and working until I achieve those goals. I then remember these achievements during difficult or unfamiliar instances. I also implement appropriate advice and guidance.

As the founder of First Hill Marketing, I’m passionate about empowering service-based businesses through effective digital presence. I specialize in website development and social media content creation, tailoring each project to help my clients stand out in today’s highly competitive online environment. My mission is to deliver results that not only satisfy but also inspire. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch clients take pride in the branding we create together and to witness their growth as they become more visible to their target audiences, even in the vast and competitive landscape of Google Search.
Beyond my work with First Hill Marketing, I also lead a band, Durracell (https://www.durracell.com/), which gives me a unique perspective on creativity and collaboration. This dual focus on both marketing and music brings a fresh dynamic to my approach, allowing me to incorporate innovative ideas and strategies into my projects. At First Hill Marketing, we’re always looking to expand and enhance our services, whether through new digital marketing tools or creative branding techniques that help clients connect meaningfully with their customers.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities have been pivotal in my journey: resilience, adaptability, and the ability to communicate clearly. First, resilience has helped me stay committed despite challenges, whether dealing with shifting client demands or unexpected project roadblocks. For anyone just starting, building resilience means learning to view setbacks as lessons rather than failures, which can be achieved by setting realistic goals and reflecting on what can be improved each time.
Adaptability, the second key quality, has been essential in staying current with rapid shifts in digital marketing and technology. My advice here is to stay open to continuous learning—keeping up with new software, design trends, and industry practices. Finally, clear communication has been crucial in managing expectations and building trust with clients. Practicing this skill means learning to listen actively and articulate ideas in a way that’s easy for clients to understand. Developing these three qualities will give anyone starting out a strong foundation to grow in the dynamic world of business.
