Meet Darren Hawkins

We were lucky to catch up with Darren Hawkins recently and have shared our conversation below.

Darren , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I developed my confidence and self-esteem by embracing my own abilities and learning to love myself without comparison. I’ve found peace in staying in my own lane, moving at the pace meant for me, and trusting the process. Prayer keeps me centered, guiding me to put my best foot forward no matter the circumstance. A major part of my strength comes from my uncle, may he rest in peace, who instilled in me the importance of boundaries and resilience. He taught me never to let anyone take my spirit, and that lesson has shaped how I carry myself today with courage, self-respect, and an unshakable sense of who I am becoming.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a creator of art who specializes in bringing visuals to life behind the lens. My passion is capturing the elements moments, energy, and emotion and shaping them into stories that truly connect. Through AdarenProduction, I bring everything together to create masterpieces that are both powerful and meaningful.
What excites me most is the ability to take everyday ideas and transform them into visuals that people can feel and relate to. Right now, I have a few upcoming projects, including a partnership with PDA Parade on The Candy House, a comedy skit series that brings real-life humor to the screen in a way that’s highly relatable. Beyond film and visuals, I’m also expanding the brand with new merchandise available at adarenproduction.com, while continuing to build and grow AdarenProduction into something even greater.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful for me are creativity, storytelling, and cinematography. Each of these has shaped the way I approach my art and helped me find my unique lane. I worked hard and practiced consistently to discover my niche, pulling from the inspiration I had growing up and using it to figure out how I wanted to stand out from the rest.
My advice for anyone early in their journey is simple: don’t let anyone stop your creativity. Put your work out there without fear, even if it’s not perfect, because that’s how you grow. Be authentic when you show up as yourself, the creativity flows naturally and your work will resonate more deeply with others.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me was consistently showing up when it truly mattered, especially my mom. Her belief in my abilities whether I was right or wrong—instilled in me the confidence to pursue my goals wholeheartedly. She taught me to never be afraid of trying new things and to always give 100% effort. That foundation of support and encouragement shaped my resilience and continues to influence the way I approach both my art and my journey as a creator.
