Meet Darsh Thakker

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Darsh Thakker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Darsh, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

Resilience is not a trait I stumbled upon, it’s something I’ve had to build piece by piece, through countless moments of grit and recalibration. Founding our creative agency, Chaotic Neutral Studios, wasn’t just a decision; it was a commitment to create a space where bold, boundary-pushing storytelling could thrive, even when the odds were stacked high against it. At the time, there was no guarantee that independent, daring content would find its place, but I bet on it anyway.

That resilience was tested further when I launched True Karma Pictures and Vibration Music Group under the Cineternity umbrella, alongside my business partner, Avi Zephyra. Avi and I met in college, bonding over a shared vision for fearless storytelling and inclusive representation. That partnership evolved from a friendship into a co-founding journey where we set out to build a cultural ecosystem that wasn’t just about individual projects, but a fully interconnected media platform. Our vision for True Karma Pictures and Arrival Studios is to elevate diverse voices and produce bold narrative projects that challenge the status quo. We’re currently in the financing phase for Limerence, a crime drama, and are building on the success of award-winning shorts like “Something, Somewhere”, “Trattoria”, and “Decrescendo”, each reflecting our commitment to authentic, powerful storytelling.

Simultaneously, Vibration Music Group was born from the need to support underrepresented voices in music and expand the creative ecosystem we were building. With artists like Sandra Isa and Kovei, whose tracks like Sácame Las Palabras and Off the Yayo were strategically positioned to reach global platforms, Vibration Music Group became more than just a publisher, it’s a bridge, facilitating music licensing directly to our film projects and publishing original scores and soundtracks born from the stories we told. There were moments of doubt, missed opportunities, and financial strain, but I learned to recalibrate, to push forward even when the pathway seemed unclear.

Our structure is clear and strategic; Cineternity serves as the holding company, with Chaotic Neutral Studios and Vibration Music Group under its umbrella. Chaotic Neutral Studios oversees True Karma Pictures and Arrival Studios, each focusing on distinct narrative and genre projects, all while feeding into the broader vision of storytelling integration.

Looking ahead, Avi and I are committed to expanding this cultural ecosystem. We’re focused on producing and financing more narrative projects under True Karma Pictures and Arrival Studios, finding new clients for Chaotic Neutral Studios, and signing new artists to Vibration Music Group. At its core, our mission is to encourage representation in mainstream media, pushing stories that are diverse, impactful, and unapologetically bold. Every setback has been a blueprint for growth; every challenge, a chance to sharpen the vision. Our resilience comes from a relentless commitment to the vision, an unyielding belief that the stories we tell and the voices we elevate are worth fighting for, no matter the odds.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a Producer and Entrepreneur, leading multiple creative ventures under the Cineternity Corp. umbrella. My business partner, Avi Zephyra, and I founded Chaotic Neutral Studios as a Creative Agency focused on boundary-pushing marketing, content production, and storytelling for brands and artists. Over time, that vision expanded to include True Karma Pictures, a narrative-driven production company dedicated to bold, authentic storytelling, and Vibration Music Group, a music publishing company amplifying underrepresented voices.

My passion has always been rooted in storytelling. From the very beginning, I’ve been captivated by the power of visual and audio art to evoke emotion, inspire change, and leave a lasting impact. I’m a film buff at heart, endlessly fascinated by the way stories unfold on screen, in music, and across visual media. I believe that storytelling, whether through narrative film, song, social media content, music video, or graphic, has the unique ability to change perspectives, challenge norms, and shape culture. I want to be part of that change, building stories that resonate across borders and time.

True Karma Pictures is where that passion comes to life. We’re dedicated to crafting stories that matter and narratives that are raw, unfiltered, and unapologetically authentic. Right now, we’re working to secure financing for Limerence, a gripping crime drama that explores obsession and redemption. We’ve also released award-winning shorts like “Something, Somewhere”, “Trattoria”, and “Decrescendo”, each reflecting our commitment to elevating diverse voices in powerful, meaningful ways.

Vibration Music Group serves as the musical heartbeat of that ecosystem. We have represented artists like Sandra Isa and Kovei, whose tracks like Sácame Las Palabras and Off the Yayo are positioned for global reach. More than just a publisher, Vibration is the bridge that links music and film, licensing tracks directly into our film projects and publishing original scores that elevate the cinematic experience. It’s about creating immersive storytelling where music and visuals are in perfect harmony.

Looking ahead, Avi and I are focused on expanding our reach by developing, producing, and securing financing for more narrative projects under True Karma Pictures and Arrival Studios, finding new clients for Chaotic Neutral’s creative agency services, and signing emerging artists to Vibration Music Group. Our vision is to redefine independent storytelling, proving that bold, impactful narratives can thrive outside traditional gatekeepers. We’re building a cultural ecosystem where stories aren’t just told; they’re felt, heard, and experienced across every medium.

At its heart, everything we do is about challenging conventions and amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. I believe storytelling has the power to change the world, and I’m committed to being part of that transformation. This is just the beginning.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I can say with confidence that three qualities were absolutely critical in my journey: Resilience & Adaptability, Storytelling Vision & Creative Leadership, and Strategic Ecosystem Building.

Resilience & Adaptability
In the film and music industry, setbacks are not a possibility; they are a guarantee. Whether it’s securing financing for a film, signing artists, or finding the right team to execute a vision, challenges are part of the process. Building Chaotic Neutral Studios, True Karma Pictures, and Vibration Music Group required constant recalibration. When a door closed, I learned to find another one, and if I couldn’t find one, I built it. Resilience isn’t just about enduring hardships. It’s about growing stronger because of them. My advice to anyone starting out: get comfortable with uncertainty. Learn to adapt quickly, and don’t be afraid to change direction if it means keeping the vision alive.

Storytelling Vision & Creative Leadership
At the heart of everything I do is storytelling. I believe that whether it’s a film, a song, or a social media campaign, storytelling has the power to evoke real emotion and inspire change. Leading projects like Limerence and award-winning shorts like Something, Somewhere, Trattoria, and Decrescendo taught me the importance of having a clear vision and rallying a team around that vision. Creative leadership means more than just coming up with ideas. It means empowering others to bring their best work to the table and executing a project with precision and passion. My advice: watch films, listen to music, study art. Find ways to immerse yourself in stories, and learn how they are told. Build your own vision and lead with conviction.

Strategic Ecosystem Building
The creation of Chaotic Neutral Studios, True Karma Pictures, Arrival Studios, and Vibration Music Group wasn’t by accident. It was by design. My business partner Avi Zephyra and I set out to create a cultural ecosystem where film, music, and digital media are interconnected. The idea is simple: each entity feeds into the other, building a self-sustaining model that allows us to create, distribute, and elevate stories across multiple platforms. For example, Vibration Music Group not only signs and distributes music but also licenses tracks directly into True Karma Pictures and Arrival Studios projects. My advice: don’t just build a company. Build a network. Create synergy between your projects so that they elevate each other.

These three areas have shaped my journey and allowed me to build something bigger than just standalone projects. For anyone starting out: learn to adapt, build a strong creative vision, and always think about how your work fits into the bigger picture.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

We are always looking for ambitious creatives and visionary partners who want to be part of something bigger. At Chaotic Neutral Studios, True Karma Pictures, Arrival Studios, and Vibration Music Group, we are building a cultural ecosystem where storytelling, music, and media collide to create lasting impact.

Our doors are open to filmmakers who are ready to tell bold, unapologetic stories. Specifically, directors, writers, and producers who believe in the power of narrative to shift perspectives. True Karma Pictures is currently expanding its slate, including our upcoming crime drama Limerence and several other features in development. We are actively seeking creative crew, collaborators, and financiers who are passionate about bringing ambitious stories to life. If you are ready to be part of something groundbreaking, we want to hear from you.

On the music side, Vibration Music Group is growing its roster of underrepresented artists and licensing original scores and tracks to our film projects. We want to hear from musicians, composers, and producers who are pushing boundaries and redefining genres. We’re not just publishing music; we’re integrating it into cinematic experiences, making it an essential part of the storytelling process.

Chaotic Neutral Studios, our creative agency, is expanding its client base for brand storytelling, digital marketing, and multimedia production. We’re looking to partner with brands, creatives, and agencies who want to disrupt the ordinary and produce content that resonates deeply with audiences. We believe in pushing boundaries, crafting bold narratives, and redefining what independent media can be.

If you’re a filmmaker, artist, musician, financier, or brand looking to collaborate with a collective that’s reshaping storytelling through film and music, we want to hear from you. Reach out, share your vision, and let’s build something unforgettable.
