Hi Darya, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I got my strong work ethic from my grandfather. At the tender age of four, he experienced the loss of his father, and as the eldest sibling, he took on the responsibility of securing a prosperous future for his family. Despite not knowing the language, he immigrated to this country and exerted immense effort in his endeavors. He served as a role model, demonstrating the qualities of a true leader and imparting knowledge on how to successfully manage a business in the future. Furthermore, my grandfather instilled in me the importance of finding joy in one’s chosen path, emphasizing the significance of loving what I do. While my actions are driven by personal aspirations, they also hold a deeper meaning as a tribute to him.

I currently hold the position of marketing and communications coordinator at a non-profit organization. In this capacity, my responsibilities involve creating social media content, establishing partnerships, organizing fundraising events, and raising awareness about ending domestic violence. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my job is generating engaging content and listening to the stories of survivors. In addition to my role in the non-profit sector, I also pursue a part-time career as a makeup artist. I find great joy in this profession, as I have the opportunity to work with amazing clients and witness their happiness when I complete their makeup. Furthermore, I am also involved in content creation as a part-time creator. My online content spans various areas such as fashion, hair transformations, and lifestyle videos. I take pleasure in brainstorming unique ideas and bringing them to life. I want to emphasize that there are no limitations when it comes to pursuing multiple passions in your professional life. It is important to break free from societal expectations and explore diverse interests without confining oneself to a single path.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Throughout my journey, I have found three key qualities or skills to be instrumental in my success. Firstly, consistency has played a crucial role, as it has allowed me to maintain a steady and unwavering commitment to my goals. Secondly, I have learned the importance of seeking advice from individuals who have achieved success in their respective fields, as their wisdom and guidance have proven invaluable. Lastly, I have recognized the significance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance, as it enables me to effectively manage my professional and personal responsibilities. My advice for people who are early in their journey is to listen to motivational podcasts. Motivational podcasts help change your outlook on life in the best way. They show you how to adjust your mindset and look at the glass half full. I believe that podcasts have changed my professional and personal life.
