Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daryl Webb. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Daryl, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Honestly, my resilience comes from God. I wouldn’t be who I am without Him. Losing my father at the age of six changed the entire course of my life. That kind of void doesn’t just disappear, it shapes you. But what the enemy meant to break me, God used to build me. My strength comes from every moment I chose faith over fear, purpose over pain, and obedience over convenience.
I get my resilience from my story. From every unanswered question, every moment I felt alone, every tear I had to cry in silence. That pain birthed purpose and that’s what led me to start Fatherhood to the Fatherless, Inc. It’s more than an organization; it’s a calling to stand in the gap for young men who feel the same emptiness I once did.
I also draw strength from Purity Temple, which is the ministry God entrusted me to birth. It’s rooted in a desire to return to the heart of God, to live and lead from a pure place. Resilience, for me, isn’t about never breaking. It’s about being broken in His hands and still getting up refined, realigned, and ready to serve.
So if you ask me where I get my resilience from? I’d say from the crushing, from the pressing, but most importantly, from the One who never let go of me through it all.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m Daryl J. Webb Sr., the founder of Fatherhood to the Fatherless, Inc. and pastor of Purity Temple. Both are deeply connected to my personal story and rooted in my passion to help others heal and thrive.
Fatherhood to the Fatherless was born out of my own experience growing up without a father. I lost my dad at just six years old, and that absence shaped my life in ways I didn’t fully understand until I got older. That void created wounds, but God used those same wounds to birth purpose. Today, our organization walks with African American males of all ages, helping them navigate the emotional, spiritual, and personal challenges that come with fatherlessness. Through mentorship, empowerment sessions, and faith-based guidance, we offer more than support. We offer brotherhood, structure, and a safe place to grow.
What makes our work so special is that it’s real. We meet people where they are, and everything we do is led with compassion, transparency, and faith. From our free 12-month mentorship program to virtual support circles like Fatherhood Connects and Men’s Care Monday, we’re intentional about creating spaces where men can be vulnerable, heard, and encouraged, especially in a world that often tells them to stay silent.
Alongside that, I lead Purity Temple, a ministry built on the foundation of worship, holiness, and purity. Our focus is to help people return to the heart of God with no gimmicks, no performance, just pure worship and sound doctrine. We’re currently raising funds to purchase our first physical building, which will serve as a shared home for both the organization and the church. This will be a community hub where lives are transformed through classes, worship, mentorship, and outreach.
At the heart of everything I do — whether it’s mentoring, ministering, or creating — is the desire to see people become whole. I believe that if you can heal a man, you can heal a generation.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful things in my journey have been faith, self-awareness, and consistency.
1. Faith – My faith has been the anchor. There were seasons I didn’t have the resources, the support, or even the clarity, but I had to trust that God was still writing my story. Faith taught me how to move even when I didn’t see the full picture. If you’re just starting out, don’t underestimate what God can do with your “yes.” Stay rooted in Him and make prayer and obedience your foundation.
2. Self-awareness – Knowing who I am, what I carry, and what I still need to heal from has made all the difference. When you’re building anything—whether it’s a brand, a ministry, or a movement—unhealed wounds can leak into your leadership. I had to learn to confront my own pain so I wouldn’t bleed on those I’m called to help. My advice: take the time to heal and get clear on your identity. Everything flows from that.
3. Consistency – I didn’t get here overnight. I’ve had to keep showing up even when I didn’t feel qualified or motivated. Consistency is what separates desire from destiny. It’s what builds trust—with people, with God, and even with yourself. Start with small habits and commit to the process, even when no one is clapping yet.
If you’re early in your journey, focus on becoming before building. Develop discipline, deepen your faith, and give yourself grace in the process. The results will follow the roots.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, absolutely. I believe in the power of collaboration — purpose flows best in community. I’m always open to partnering with individuals, organizations, ministries, and creatives who share a heart for healing, mentorship, faith, and empowering underserved communities, especially African American males navigating fatherlessness.
Whether you’re a fellow nonprofit leader, a mental health advocate, a church, a community builder, or someone with resources and skills that can support our mission — let’s connect. We’re building more than programs. We’re building safe spaces, brotherhood, and legacies.
We’re also actively seeking partners who can support us in areas like mentorship, community outreach, media, fundraising, and helping us bring our physical building to life. If what you’ve read resonates with your spirit and you feel led to walk this journey with us, we welcome it.
