In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Greetings! My name is Ashley Thomas aka Dat Gurl Secrete and I am from Atlanta, Georgia. To develop my confidence and self-esteem, I concentrated on perfecting my work ethic and setting goals and accomplishing them. I would create and set goals that would help me to realize my potential to succeed. As I accomplished those goals, I would gain more and more confidence in myself and my abilities. The more I achieved, the more confidence I gained, which resulted in an increase in my self-esteem.

Hello readers! I go by the name, Dat Gurl Secrete, and I am a musical artist and entrepreneur from Atlanta, Georgia. I enjoy creating, learning, and living. I haven’t released any new music in a while but stay tuned because new music and merch will be on the soon!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most important areas of knowledge that have been impactful in my journey are the knowledge of self, the knowledge of business, and the history of music. Understanding how each of these components must coexist together is what truly has helped me along my musical journey as well as this journey called life. The best advice I can give to newbies who are starting out on their professional, academic, or entrepreneurial career journey is to always make a plan and always be open to change.
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
My biggest area of growth in the past 12 months is my career growth in the information technology field. After seeing the recent growth in AI and information technology industries, I started to look into taking classes for cybersecurity. Instead, I enrolled in classes and studied to become a Certified Systems Administrator. As a Certified Systems Administrator, I have gained a multitude of knowledge and numerous IT skills to help push my current career in IT even further.
