We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Datron Branch a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Datron, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. How did you know your purpose?
I find my purpose in doing things that benefit others. It wasn’t until recently that I realized that this was my true purpose. Whether it is through community service, or my profession, I like to find solutions to people’s problems and help improve their lives. One of the most gratifying aspects about of what I do now is providing wellness products that help people naturally manage their chronic pain or condition. Often, these have become a burden on their everyday lifestyle.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the CEO of Branch Pharms, and the Managing Partner of diapedic. In my role at Branch Pharms, I manage all aspects of our “soil to shelf” hemp product manufacturing company, which includes field and processing operations, product development, and manufacturing. As Managing Partner of diapedic, our CBD brand, I guide the marketing, supply chain and distribution channel strategies. Since launching Branch Pharms, I have worked closely with the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, as a licensed cultivator and processor for its Industrial Hemp Research Program. I also organized and completed the required cultivation and processing research projects, which included the proprietary techniques that were integral in formulating and manufacturing our company’s CBD products. I have leveraged more than 25 years of business management experience, in addition to tapping into our team’s agricultural and industrial technology background, to help
elevate Branch Pharms and the diapedic brand, respectively. Our current focus at Branch Pharms is product development and manufacturing. With CBD-based products becoming increasingly popular, we are excited about the opportunity to bring more quality natural wellness solutions to the consumer market. Our main priorities with diapedic are brand awareness and establishing distribution channels. We will soon transition our full and broad spectrum CBD oils, which are currently being distributed through Branch Pharms, to our diapedic brand to
complement the cream products and enhance this product line. Branch Pharms will solely focus on product development and manufacturing.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I feel the three most important qualities and skills that have helped me along this journey are my business acumen, manufacturing management, and being a cannabis enthusiast. My undergraduate degree is in industrial technology, where I learned key manufacturing skills like planning, prioritizing, and streamlining processes. During my career experience in business, I encountered many situations which allowed me to make sound decisions and drive successful outcomes. As a cannabis enthusiast, I have had the opportunity to explore the wellness benefits of cannabis, and how various cannabinoids and terpenes from the hemp plant interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system. This has greatly influenced how we formulate and develop products and their overall efficacy. Regardless of what stage of your journey, the best advice I can give is to incorporate the Applying Processes and Procedures (APP) method into every routine aspect of your
business. It also can help maintain organization and balance in your personal life. Secondly, embrace mentorship because we all have weaknesses and can benefit from guidance and diverse perspectives. The entrepreneurial journey is not for the faint at heart, so having mentors who can share their expertise and provide sound advice is vital.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
We are currently looking to partner with more pharmacies, health care providers (chiropractors, physical therapists, podiatrists, rheumatologists, and nurse practitioners) and fitness and wellness professionals/locations (gyms, fitness studios, massage therapists and wellness centers). We make it convenient and complementary to their practices and/or retail locations. We also would love to collaborate with brand ambassadors. Our affiliate program is designed to grow our brand on a grassroots level due to marketing challenges in this industry, while compensating our ambassadors for sharing their #diapedicexperience (why they like our products).
