Meet Dave Park

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dave Park. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dave below.

Dave, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
To Start… I am an optimiist. But are the labels optimist or a pessimist relevant?

I believe so. I am a glass half full entrepreneur?”

Although some people may be able to categorize themselves as one or the
other, I believe most of us would probably answer that we are a bit of both.

Optimism and pessimism are not the two ends of the same line .
I think they are the shadow of each other.

You know, traditionally speaking, optimism is seen as a positive, while pessimism is usually frowned upon. But the truth is that both have their advantages and disadvantages.

As a professed optimist, I have a built in positive attitude which helps me cope with stress, work through situations and perservere through challenges. I also believe optimism is benefical to your health and mental well being.

I think I have always been an optimist throughout my life. My father instilled in me a postitive attitude in everything we did together. School, sports, girlfriends, work, etc.

When my optimistic self gets slapped in the face, I first dig back into my faith in God which leads me back to remembering conversations with my father.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As I look at this place, time in my career, (Serial Entrepreneur.. Ha!) I look to narrow my focus and implement procedures that will sustain the business for our team for years to come, while giving back to the community that supported me throught the good and bad times.

While I stay focused on the real estate service business, I have taken on my final business move, real estate streaming tv. The opportunity is exciting, new and provides a platform to our Real Estate Professionals along with allowing me to provide charities TV exposure across 5 states.

Video is such a dominate, informative platform and providing a niche for home listing exposure to over 70 million people across the country is really cool. I am super excited to announce that YourHouseTV has launched on the fasting growing network on Roku, ABAGALE.

In today’s media opportunities, we find that Information retention from video is greater by 95% over print media and 78% over texting.

Steaming niche’s have made strides into the major networks and now compete for a demanding audience.  With YourHouseTT, we are now competing for the real estate niche.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
To start with, fina a job or profession that you truly are passionate about. Fight your way to find a path to accept a job/carrer your are passonate about, no matter what. Enjoy what your do for a living. Tell, share and show others. Be genuine, honest and smile.  Life if Good!

Next, do not burn bridges. When you close a door (or have it closed for you), another one will open. Trust in yourself, your choices and be beyone approach.  Again trust in yourself… Believe in yourself.  Keep at it!

Read… Read… Read. There are an abundence of books on business, self awareness, skills. I like to read books on sales and marketing. You are always selling,.. I love Jeffrey Gitomer and his books. Marketing I always fall back to the basics that have worked for years. I contantly read Dan Kennedy and his Newsletters.

Write each day. Start you day writing. Not a novel, unless that is your passion, but write what you learned, what you observed, what your expirenced. Writing creates and opens up thought.

Hang out with the right people. Attracht the right people in your business and in your life. Look back on your group… most of us are who we hang out with.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
I start each day reading Zig Ziglars daily insights into the beloved Word of God. The writings are thought provoking and help me to continue my walk with God. I will read this book over and over as each insight brings to light different things on different days. Many times it is a reminder while other times it hits hard on what is happening in my life. It helps me to focus my day with a quite read and prayer.

I previously mentioned Jeffrey Gitomer and Dan Kennedy. I really enjoyed Jeffrey’s Gitomer’s “Little Book of Yes Attitude”. Mr. Gitomer shares his philosophy…
1. Give Value First
2. Help Other People
3. Strive to Get Better Each Day
4. Do your Best and Love what you do!
5. Establish long-term relationships with everyone
6. Laugh and Have Fun Every Day

Dan Kennedy’s book, “Magnetic Marketing” should be a businesses require reading on marketing.
1. Branding does not pay the bills… do not waste money on branding
2. If your post, letter, flyer, website, media does not have an offer or call to action, then it is branding and a waste of money.
3. The business that spends the most to acquire the client wins! (Think about that one… Disney)

Keep a reading list and journal…  It will help and keep you focused.
