Meet Daveron Rhena

We recently connected with Daveron Rhena and have shared our conversation below.

Daveron , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Discovering my purpose in life required consciously aligning my daily actions with my goals, values, and beliefs, which served as my compass. Embracing my passions, honing my talents, and learning from life’s experiences have shaped my unique path. This journey was deeply influenced by a pivotal event in my early childhood. At 6 months old, I became a survivor of a horrific and catastrophic car accident. Flung from the vehicle due to sudden rain, the car spun out of control, hurtling me across a bustling highway, narrowly escaping a fatal end. As the car wrapped around a large tree, I not only dodged the wheels of oncoming traffic but also avoided being pinned or crushed between the car and the tree. While unconscious, my mother frantically searched for me, finally discovering my limp body, unconscious and fragile. As the ambulance reached me, racing towards the hospital, my mother’s prayers and fervent plea for my survival were met with disbelief by onlookers, unaware of her gift of foresight. Her discernment and ability to see future and past events, known as being a seer, had warned her of impending danger to one of her children in a dream days before the accident. Miraculously, I began to breathe again. Despite the odds stacked against me, I defied the dire predictions of doctors who foresaw a life marred by brain damage and multiple other disabilities. After my release, my mother took me to a church service. In my carrier, she placed me on the piano during the worship part of the service, and it was only then that I sat up and began moving my neck, which I had been mysteriously unable to do since the accident. Guided by my mother’s unwavering support and the divine intervention that spared my life, my journey towards purpose was forged. With each endeavor, my purpose remains clear: to spread hope, healing, and inspiration to all those I encounter, a testament to the power of resilience, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Through pure endurance and unrelenting drive, I have navigated the complexities of living with a brain injury, turning adversity into accomplishment. From a young age, my literary talent received national attention, culminating in the independent publication of children’s literature, and securing a full scholarship for both academics and athletics upon graduation at the age of 16. My entrepreneurial spirit, inherited from my mother, inspired me to launch an online educational consulting and publishing company. Additionally, I co-established a non-profit arts organization recognized for its community impact and formed ongoing partnerships with educational, military, and civic institutions. Beyond these ventures, I am actively involved in ministry, multimedia management, corporate event planning, consulting, coaching, and promoting tourism and travel. Notably, in 2023, I had the privilege of performing on the final tour with Candi Staton around the UK.

As I continue to pursue my passions, I eagerly anticipate the release of my EP, with the third single “NEED YOUR HELP” scheduled for 4/24/24, as well as a few books, and a podcast. This creative endeavor is supported by the unwavering love and encouragement of my husband, Lindsay Critten, of nearly 24 years, and the joy brought into our lives by our son, Lindsay Levi, whose wit and intelligence shine brightly. My life’s journey reflects my unwavering commitment to advocating for hope, inspiring others, and fostering positive change. I aspire for my message, conveyed through music and various endeavors, to resonate with individuals worldwide who are open to receiving it. I aim for it to ignite a spark of resilience in those who may have lost hope, particularly those grappling with anxiety, depression, or other challenges. Remember, if I can overcome adversity, so can you. Hold on tightly; you will persevere. Even when you can’t see a way forward, lean on the support around you. May you find solace and strength amid hardship and deep sorrow, guided by the light of hope. You are not alone, and brighter days are ahead.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three key qualities that were most impactful in my journey are:

1. My ability to recover from loss and failures. My problems have been opportunities for introspection, allowing me to progress while maintaining a positive and grateful outlook.

2. I value new experiences and approach life’s challenges with adaptability and resilience.

3. I am dedicated to continual self-improvement through therapy, positive mental dialogue, schooling, mentorship, and individual study.

My advice to those embarking on their journey is to consistently recognize the blessings in their lives. One significant positive aspect can transform any situation. Shifting focus from what’s lacking to what’s present has profoundly altered my mood, perspective, and overall well-being. It’s acceptable and important to mourn losses and express disappointment. Take time to recognize and validate emotions through a positive lens. Replace “what if it doesn’t” with “what if it does,” and “what if I can’t” with “what if I do.” Each question should prompt a reframing that inspires progress and propels you forward. Success isn’t solely achieving big milestones. It can manifest in various forms, from simply getting through the day to making improvements or rising again.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am seeking partnerships in various areas to leverage my voice, performance skills, and passion for advocacy and creativity. Here’s how we can collaborate:

1. Musical Collaboration & Performance Opportunities: I’m seeking like-minded musicians eager to delve into various sounds and join forces on innovative projects, enriching our artistic endeavors. My goal is to grace a myriad of stages, spanning events, programs, schools, and churches, where I can share my artistry with diverse audiences, and continue uplifting, healing, and others through my music and story.

2. Travel Industry Collaboration: With the official establishment of A Travel Advisory Company, a venture I co-founded to facilitate easy, stress-free, and economical group travel for families, friends, corporate entities, and other organizations.

Given my frequent global travels, I am deeply passionate about sharing distinctive global travel experiences. I am eager to explore destinations that seamlessly integrate elements of music, art, business, and travel, offering inspirational and unforgettable adventures.

3. Public Service and Speaking Engagements: I actively seek partnerships for meaningful public service initiatives and speaking engagements, fueled by a heartfelt commitment to guiding and inspiring others. I am dedicated to offering support to families seeking effective at-home educational strategies and individuals facing mental health and brain injury challenges. Through partnerships and engagements, I strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

4. Promotion and Advocacy: My deepest aspiration is to amplify my music and art, to shed light on personal journeys of struggle and triumph while championing meaningful causes. With unwavering passion, I strive to raise awareness and spark conversations that inspire change. In pursuit of this vision, I am seeking support for my current and future music projects.
