Meet David Albert

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to David Albert. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have David with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My work ethic has always come from my parents. My mother immigrated from Costa Rica and taught me from a young age the value and reward of hard work and where it can lead you in life. My father, an electrical engineer, passed down the same mantra to me as his father had to him: “If there was an easy way in life, everyone would be doing the same thing”. These life lessons taught to me at an early age have followed me throughout my life and career, allowing me to accomplish great things in the short time I have been on this earth. I truly don’t know where I would be if I did not have parents like I did.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am the owner and founder of It’s Good Marketing Solutions, one of the fastest growing marketing and media production companies in DFW. We have worked with different brands and industries, ranging from small businesses and restaurants to the Dallas Cowboys in Frisco! We are a floor to ceiling marketing company that specializes in growing service-based businesses by increasing their traffic through targeted media and advertising campaigns! We have partners here in DFW, Minnesota, Tennessee, and all over the country! The biggest problem we solve for business owners is taking the stress of marketing and business growth off of their plates by creating a system of audience growth and lead funnels, which increases the likelihood of sales from massive growth!

I started this company after working for a law firm for years, in which I was their marketing executive, growing their practice by over 182% by the time I left! It was here that I perfected my craft in understanding consumer behavior and how brand awareness and consistent funnel campaigns were the ultimate key to growth for service based businesses. While each business is different and requires different styles and campaigns to grow, the formula for how that is achieved is always the same, which is how we have been able to grow so many different brands in so many different industries across the country!

I graduated from the University Of The Incarnate Word in San Antonio in 2020 with a degree in marketing and a minor in finance! I have always been fascinated by understanding market behavior and business growth since I was in high school! Selling yearbook ads to local businesses in Arlington, I earned money for the yearbook to have the biggest page budget since the school’s inception! I knew from the beginning I was going to have a career in marketing and I have never looked back!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The most important 3 things I have learned in my career are the following:

1. “You can’t lose if you never give up.”
– This has been the staple and cornerstone that sits at the top of my whiteboard in my office every day. Too many people stray away from great things because of the adversity that comes with them. When the going gets tough, they get going. Taking my dad’s advice, which was passed down from my grandfather, I was able to accomplish great things in life, such as playing collegiate football in front of thousands on national TV and starting my own company with multiple staff at 27. I was able to do these great things amidst adversity because I knew I would eventually win if I just never gave up.

2. “Find out what you are good at, and make it into a career.”
– Too many people think that money is the end goal, which turns into them working a job or in a career field they don’t like for years on end. This then leads to burnout and disappointment, which is a scary place to be. Here’s a hint: just because you enjoy doing something in your free time and are good at it, doesn’t mean it needs to remain a hobby! There are so many different career paths you can take or business ideas you can start that make you feel like you aren’t even working! Identifying at an early age, or as early as possible, what you are good at and enjoy doing will always lead to big money down the road.

3. “Surround yourself with like-minded individuals.”
– I had a conversation with a very wealthy individual once at a conference in Atlanta. He gave me one of the greatest pieces of advice I ever heard, and it has always stuck with me since. He said, “Always make sure you are the dumbest person in the room”. At first, I was so confused, thinking about this for weeks on end. Why would someone as wealthy and successful as him say something so wrong? Then it finally hit me. What he was saying was brilliant: if you surround yourself with growth-driven individuals who are all smarter than you, you will always be learning and bettering your craft. I always love the scene in “Bobby Jones Stroke Of Genius” when they asked why he was upset after playing a perfect round of golf, and his answer was “Because I didn’t learn anything”. This mindset and attitude to always be better and striving to be great is what separates the average person from millionaires.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

While my parents played a huge role in my development and hard work ethic, it was my mentor and former boss Robert Greening, owner and founder of GreeninglawPC in Dallas, Texas. I will forever be grateful for the role he played in my career development, which led to me owning my own business with no previous business ownership experience or family help. When I first started at the firm, he took me under his wing and showed me, through countless lunch hours, coffee breaks, and small talk, the ins and outs of owning and running a business for over 3 decades. He showed me how a boss was supposed to be a leader and not just someone who barks out orders and expects results. On so many different occasions during my time at the firm, he led by example and made sure to always take any kind of hit first to protect his staff and make sure people felt valued and loved working for him. It was here that I realized how to create a loyalty culture within a company, which creates 10x worth ethic out of your team when they know their leader is right there supporting them every step of the way. I learned so much working for this great man for years, and I can confidently say he is the reason I was able to take the leap of faith and successfully start and grow my own business to this day. His practices and how he ran the firm are the same ones I use at my firm to this day, which is why we keep growing each month and continue to work with big brands all across the country!
