Hi David, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Lately I’ve been told from people who have been with me through the storms of life and those who have recently stood with me in the fire, that I’ve always had a strong level of Resilience. and have been asked where does it come from. My Strong and secure answer is GOD. When I look back over my life and what I’ve survived, I did not survive it in my own strength. It is all God.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As an Image Consultant my gift is to meet with individuals and help enhance their minds eye on fashion to bring out their true “STYLE “IDENTITY” for their professional brands and personal style life. I do this by offering different services, like, wardrobe closet organization, personal shopping, styling, not just you but your family, and doing wardrobe on TV and Movie sets. i’ve also expanded by offering services to clean up and restructure your social media presence and create content for special clients.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The top 3 qualities or skills to be an image consultant are
1. Faith & Vision: You must believe in the seeing the needs of each client and their individual impact and that you are supposed to be the one that helps enhance their fashion story. Also seeing a vision for them and their brand that surpasses the ow and can carry them in to the future.
2. Patience to Pivot: Not everyone is the same and we must be ready to adjust our visions for the client as well as help the client see other fashion options that can enhance their minds eye.
3. Wisdom: As creatives we must stay a head of the game and study our craft. the clients that book us are counting on us to have the Knowledge and wisdom to style them to help them stand out and be who they are called to be, to be impactful with their brands.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
From New York to Atlanta I have always been blessed with a community of Creatives and clients that have helped me elevate and continue to grow. It is highly important to make sure we are surrounded by people who uplift us, who encourage us to grow and enhance our gift’s talents and abilities through our Faith. A community of Prayer warriors, Friends and Family that help you stay focused on your dreams and purpose. I am and have been blessed to have that.
