We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful David Badal. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with David below.
David, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Resilience? It’s not something you can buy off the shelf or learn in a seminar. Resilience is bred in the fire of adversity and honed through relentless determination. You see, it’s about knowing that no matter how tough the situation, you have what it takes to come out on top.
For me, resilience comes from a deep-seated belief in myself. I’ve faced my fair share of challenges in life, but I’ve never doubted my ability to overcome them. It’s that unwavering confidence that keeps me going when others would throw in the towel.
But resilience isn’t just about confidence; it’s also about adaptability. You need to be able to roll with the punches, to pivot when things don’t go as planned. That’s why I’m always one step ahead, ready to adjust my strategy at a moment’s notice.
And let’s not forget the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people. I’ve got a team that’s got my back no matter what, and that support is invaluable when the going gets tough.
So, where do I get my resilience from? It’s in my DNA, my mindset, and the people I choose to have in my corner. It’s the belief that no matter what life throws my way, I’ve got what it takes to make it through.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Ever since college, I have always been fascinated with the business world, and being an entrepreneur, whether that be owning my own company or investing in a business that I would enjoy, it’s been my goal. There is a rush of adrenaline in the startup world that you do not find anywhere else, and call me crazy but it is something I look for.
When I was asked to do this article about VIP Hard Seltzer, I was surprised but excited to talk about the brand and where we are heading. VIP was actually started at UCF with the three co-founders Nick, Connor, and Mazen. Before going out with their friends one night, they developed the drink in the kitchen of their college home and that’s honestly how VIP was created. I later joined as an investor and CIO, where besides the finance world, my objective is to give our brand a place in South Florida. It is no secret that South Florida is sizzling hot right now- everyone who’s anyone wants to be part of the scene. And for us, it’s a natural fit.
Our strides in expanding our footprint across South Florida have been nothing short of exhilarating. Recently, we collaborated with ProfileMiami at Prestige Imports for an event that epitomized the essence of VIP—connecting with great individuals, admiring stunning automobiles, and reveling in memorable moments. And this is just the beginning.
While I’m eager to spill the beans about our upcoming Miami events, I cannot as of yet. But rest assured, when the time comes, we’d be honored to have you cover it. Consider it an exclusive invitation to witness VIP in action.
Now, let’s talk about taste. I’ll admit, I wasn’t a seltzer aficionado until I had a VIP Hard Seltzer. It’s not just another seltzer—it’s a game-changer. Don’t take my word for it; try it for yourself and join the ranks of those who’ve discovered the best-tasting seltzer on the market. Trust me; you won’t look back.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
In the ever-evolving landscape of business and life, adaptability emerges as the cornerstone skill that has made an impact in my life. I firmly believe that adaptability isn’t just a desirable trait, it’s an absolute necessity, both in business and in personal growth. Everyday aspects of our lives continue to change and you can either sit back and see the change or be part of it. Being able to adapt, sharpens your skills and keeps you moving forward, and I that’s what makes life fun.
The other aspect is taking risks, and when I say that I mean calculated risks, don’t be stupid and make dumb decisions, you are going to regret those. You have to be smart with your time. especially when you are younger, you can make mistakes and bounce back faster, and I’ve always said it your 20s are your years to be selfish and take risks. Its your canvas for audacious ventures and unapologetic self-discovery. I think many individuals are comfortable with life, and there’s nothing wrong with that… they are okay with doing the same task over and over again, but I say take the risk because growth lies just beyond your comfort zone.
Sure, the startup world is often painted as a high-stake gamble and for the most part is, but there is so much potential to rewrite the script of life. Life, in essence is a gamble- a game we’re all playing. And if the dice roll in your favor, the rewards can be nothing short of extraordinary.
And the last skill is to always keep learning. that is the only constant. This one factor I believe is the key to continued success. None of us have all the answers, and that is the beauty of learning. I’ve been in the private world, non-profits, financial services, and startups, they have all been different, and in each, I’ve had to learn and adapt.
I will say, what is truly remarkable about these three skills is their relationship- each dependent on the other. They form a cohesive narrative, a trilogy of growth
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Of course, at VIP Hard Setlzer we are always looking for individuals looking to collaborate and move our brand forward.
You always hear about how great a company is before you join, and then you do end up joining and it’s the opposite… that’s not the case VIP. We all have our own goals and our own KPIs we want to get done, but we all pull our weight and we get them accomplished.
We are looking for individuals who represent the brand well, who have the mentality, “work hard, play hard,” and who want to be part of something new. Networking is an aspect that is essential to us because we are getting into music events, bars, and restaurants, so if you have those connections we can make it work.
